Roxxxxy - you're losing it, bro..... Did you mean "ad nauseam" or "museum", or - more likely - you don't know the difference?

Why on earth would Mysteryman lie about not having seen any talking points memo? I haven't either and I think the same.

Bro? I think you are the one who is losing it, sister.

The claim that Obama is throwing his grandmother under the bus has been repeated ad infinitum for days now, sister. And it doesn't surprise me at all that someone who addresses females as bro wouldn't get how MM could repeat it without having heard it, if only subliminally.

ho, I dont know if the DOD invented AIDS or not, But in 1969 they did ask for and receive from Congress appropriations to develop a biological weapon that would attack and destroy the human immune system. That's in the Comgessional record. If the DOD had never sought such a weapon I doubt there would be any basis for saying the government created AIDS. There are researchers who have followed the money trail of that appropriation and I suspect Rev. Wright is familiar with their evidence. Here's a link to the testimoney to Congress requesting the money "2. Within the next 5 to 10 years, it would probably be possible to make a new infective microorganism which could differ in certain important aspects from any known disease-causing organisms. Most important of these is that it might be refractory to the immunological and therapeutic processes upon when we depend to maintain our relative freedom from infectious disease.

3. A research program to explore the feasibility of this could be completed in approximately 5 years at a total cost of $10 million.

4. It would be very difficult to establish such a program. Molecular biology is a relatively new science. There are not many highly competent scientisis in the field., almost all are in university laboratories, and they are generally adequately supported from sources other than DOD. However, it was considered possible to initiate an adequate program through the National Academy of sciences - National Research Council (NAS-NRC, and tentative plans were made to initiate the program. However decreasing funds in CB, growing criticism of the CB program., and our reluctance to involve the NAS NRC in such a controversial endeavor have led us to postpone it for the past 2 years.

It is a highly controversial issue and there are many who believe such research should not be undertaked lest it lead to yet another method of massive killing of large populations. On the other hand, without the sure scientific knowledge that such a weapon is possible, and an understanding of the ways it could be done. there is little that can be done to devise defensive measures. Should an enemy develop it there is little doubt that this is an important area of potential military technological inferiority in which there is no adequate research program." link

Butrflynet, your cartoon reminded me of Hillary's statement last week that we brought freedom to Iraq. All this time I thought we brought death and destruction.

Richardson's letter explaining to his supporters why he endorsed Obama:

Quote:
Dear xxxx,

During the last year, I have shared with you my vision and hopes for this nation as we look to repair the damage of the last seven years. And you have shared your support, your ideas and your encouragement to my campaign. We have been through a lot together and that is why I wanted to tell you that, after careful and thoughtful deliberation, I have made a decision to endorse Barack Obama for President.

We are blessed to have two great American leaders and great Democrats running for President. My affection and admiration for Hillary Clinton and President Bill Clinton will never waver. It is time, however, for Democrats to stop fighting amongst ourselves and to prepare for the tough fight we will face against John McCain in the fall. The 1990's were a decade of peace and prosperity because of the competent and enlightened leadership of the Clinton administration, but it is now time for a new generation of leadership to lead America forward. Barack Obama will be a historic and a great President, who can bring us the change we so desperately need by bringing us together as a nation here at home and with our allies abroad.

Earlier this week, Senator Barack Obama gave an historic speech. that addressed the issue of race with the eloquence, sincerity, and optimism we have come to expect of him. He inspired us by reminding us of the awesome potential residing in our own responsibility. He asked us to rise above our racially divided past, and to seize the opportunity to carry forward the work of many patriots of all races, who struggled and died to bring us together.

As a Hispanic, I was particularly touched by his words. I have been troubled by the demonization of immigrants--specifically Hispanics-- by too many in this country. Hate crimes against Hispanics are rising as a direct result and now, in tough economic times, people look for scapegoats and I fear that people will continue to exploit our racial differences--and place blame on others not like them . We all know the real culprit -- the disastrous economic policies of the Bush Administration!
Senator Obama has started a discussion in this country long overdue and rejects the politics of pitting race against race. He understands clearly that only by bringing people together, only by bridging our differences can we all succeed together as Americans.

His words are those of a courageous, thoughtful and inspiring leader, who understands that a house divided against itself cannot stand. And, after nearly eight years of George W. Bush, we desperately need such a leader.

To reverse the disastrous policies of the last seven years, rebuild our economy, address the housing and mortgage crisis, bring our troops home from Iraq and restore America's international standing, we need a President who can bring us together as a nation so we can confront our urgent challenges at home and abroad.

During the past year, I got to know Senator Obama as we campaigned against each other for the Presidency, and I felt a kinship with him because we both grew up between worlds, in a sense, living both abroad and here in America. In part because of these experiences, Barack and I share a deep sense of our nation's special responsibilities in the world.

So, once again, thank you for all you have done for me and my campaign. I wanted to make sure you understood my reasons for my endorsement of Senator Obama. I know that you, no matter what your choice, will do so with the best interests of this nation, in your heart.

Sincerely,
Bill Richardson

Some low level employees of a contractor working for the State Dept got curious and peaked into the passpost application files of all three candidates. Nothing nefarious, but it took the State Dept too long to react to the alert, the computerized alert, that this had happened. The State Dept (which issues passports) ends up with a lot of egg on their collective face.

I know nothing about this website or the author, but here is an interesting
synopsis of Obama's economic plan...

http://www.currencytrading.net/2008/10-surprising-economic-implications-of-a-barack-obama-presidency/

Quote:
The American presidential election is rapidly drawing near. The race is becoming more intense and the field of candidates has narrowed to such that a detailed look at each of their platforms makes sense. The focus of this article is on Barack Obama, one of the leading contenders for the Democratic Party's nomination. Of primary interest for traders in the forex markets is his economic policy, though there is significant overlap between his positions on taxes, trade, and the economy. In addition, his proposed health plan and energy plan, for example, both carry important economic implications, and hence should be considered within the context of how his presidency would bear on the US economy.

It breaks things down into easier to understand parts.

Well I "imagine" that would be a good observation if the persons responsible had been revealing their own information, but they were digging for someone else's. That's not kosher, legal or ethical. But I'm sure you had already chosen to blithely overlook that part of it in order to make your asinine, snarky, and totally in character remark.

I imagine Mr McCain would have a small problem with his Social Security number (which is on the app and can be used to access any number of other bits and bites of info) being put up in lights in Times Square or anywhere else.

I'm more concerned that they 'could' access it than the fact that they did. I'm also concerned that it was dealt with at the office level at discovery rather than being escalated. Apparently the two that were fired had to knowingly respond to a prompt that informed them they were accessing private information and 'chose' the option to proceed.

No. I hadn't overlooked that. I had every intention of being as asinine and as snarky as I could. I've got dough on Mr McCain at 6 to 1.
