It's not just Somali Kenyan elders who are upset.

Al-Qaeda is infuriated about Hillary's use of the picture.

Most of all, the mujahedeen are "indignant about the much-rumored notion that Obama (who has repeatedly declared his faith in Christianity and his support for Israel) is somehow in league with them."

See, all of us in the West, Obama cultists and Obama haters, have it wrong. Obama is in fact an "Iranian agent," secretly sent to take over the US and fight a war against Sunni Muslims. According to al-Qaeda supporters.

Clinton wants everybody to know how she is going to smooth over the world opinion of us, but here she or her minions are making enemies all over the world. If this is an example of how she will manage the presidency, we are in big trouble if she should happen to get in there.

Holy Hannah. I was just headed for bed and checked in here. After glancing over this page, I'm going out to see if there is a full moon or at least a few bats about.

I did note Magginkat's post on the previous page though. THAT's what all this Obamamania reminds me of, and I couldn't put my finger on it. It reminds me of an old tyme tent revival popular when I was a kid--folks being slain in the spirit interspersed with HALLELUJAHs and all.

If it works, though, power to Senator Obama. So far he has run his campaign as a gentleman and at least in this age of politics of personal destruction, it is refreshing to see somebody run on hallelujahs instead of hatemongering.

I don't know about 'mentor', but Ayers and his wife are a match.

Ayers: Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at.

Mrs. Ayers: Famous reaction to the Manson killings, as conveyed by journalist Peter Collier: "Dig it. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, then they even shoved a fork into a victim's stomach! Wild!"

Those statements were quoted in a review of Ayers' book, with the reviewer commenting on why they weren't included.

That's just one example okie. Haven't you seen her latest TV ad where there is a phone ringing at 3am and we're to believe that we will be safe because Hillary had been around the block during her term as First Lady and got to know all the world leaders.

What they forgot to tell us in that ad is that many of the world leaders she met at that time are now dead. When she answers the phone in the next ad will she say "I see dead people?"

Barnstorming Obama plans to pick Republicans for cabinet
As he jets across two key states whipping up the support that could finish off Hillary Clinton this week, the Democratic frontrunner is already mapping out a government of all the talents.

...

As Barack Obama enters the final stages of the fight for the Democratic presidential nomination, he is preparing to detach the core voters of John McCain, the likely Republican nominee, with the same ruthless determination with which he has peeled off Hillary Clinton's supporters.

The scene is set for a tussle between the two candidates for the support of some of the sharpest and most independent minds in politics. Obama is hoping to appoint cross-party figures to his cabinet such as Chuck Hagel, the Republican senator for Nebraska and an opponent of the Iraq war, and Richard Lugar, leader of the Republicans on the Senate foreign relations committee.

Senior advisers confirmed that Hagel, a highly decorated Vietnam war veteran and one of McCain's closest friends in the Senate, was considered an ideal candidate for defence secretary. Some regard the outspoken Republican as a possible vice-presidential nominee although that might be regarded as a "stretch".

Asked about his choice of cabinet last week, Obama told The Sunday Times: "Chuck Hagel is a great friend of mine and I respect him very much," although he was wary of appearing as though he was already choosing the White House curtains.

...

Obama believes he will be able to neutralise McCain by drawing on the expertise of independent Republicans such as Hagel and Lugar, who is regarded by Obama as a potential secretary of state.

Larry Korb, a defence official under President Ronald Reagan who is backing Obama, said: "By putting a Republican in the Pentagon and the State Department you send a signal to Congress and the American people that issues of national security are above politics."

Korb recalled that President John F Kennedy appointed Robert McNamara, a Republican, as defence secretary in 1961. "Hagel is not only a Republican but a military veteran who would reassure the troops that there was somebody in the Pentagon who understood their hopes, concerns and fears," he said...

Q&A: Democratic hopefuls answer reader questions

The Houston Chronicle solicited questions from readers in Houston, San Antonio and Beaumont to pose to the presidential candidates. Here are responses from Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama. Please check chron.com for more questions and answers.

Q: Everyone watches the first 100 days of a presidency, but what can we expect from you in the first 100 hours?

Gwen Parker, San Antonio.

A: Clinton: One of my first official actions as president will be to convene the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the secretary of defense and the National Security Council and direct them to draw up a clear, viable plan to bring our troops home from Iraq, starting within 60 days. I will immediately review President Bush's executive orders that impact executive authority, and I will rescind those that undermine the Constitution and betray the rule of law.

I will ask Congress to send me bills the president has vetoed, like the expansion of the Children's Health Insurance Program and funding for ethical stem cell research. I will begin a timeout from new agreements in order to review the existing ones and to formulate a comprehensive trade policy for the 21st century. I will issue an executive order ending President Bush's war on science and restoring scientific integrity to government decision-making by, among other things, banning political appointees from interfering with scientific conclusions. I will send out diplomats and prominent Americans from both parties to help restore American leadership in the world.

Obama: In my first 100 hours as president, I will call in the Joint Chiefs of Staff and give them the goal of responsibly ending this war in Iraq. I will have my new attorney general review every executive order that this president has issued and overturn those that are unconstitutional. And I will launch the most sweeping White House ethics reform in history to close the revolving door between the White House and the lobbying firms and begin restoring trust in our government.

Q: From signing statements to asserting that Congress cannot withhold funding for Iraq to an attorney general who says that the president isn't breaking any laws unless he says so, President Bush has aggressively pursued a policy of expanding the powers of the executive branch. What do you plan to do about this?

Charles Kuffner, Houston.

A: Clinton: As president, I will end the administration's abuse of executive power by restoring the traditional right of habeas corpus and closing the detention center at Guantanamo. ... I will also work to modernize our wiretapping laws so that we can protect Americans from another terrorist attack while respecting the privacy rights of our citizens. And I ... have said unequivocally that torture cannot be American policy, under any circumstances.

I would not use signing statements to disagree on policy grounds with legislation passed by Congress or as an end run around the veto. I will appoint an attorney general who understands and endorses our Founding Fathers' framework of checks and balances.

Obama: The separation of powers works. It has for more than two centuries. As president, I will respect that separation as laid out in the Constitution, and I will end the current administration's use of signing statements as an end run around Congress' legislative intent.

Unlike Alberto Gonzales, my attorney general will understand that his or her job is to be the people's lawyer, not the president's lawyer. ... And we'll end illegal wiretaps, close Guantanamo, restore habeas corpus and reject torture without exception.

Q: With the Vietnam generation getting older and the scandal at Walter Reed fresh in the minds of veterans, what do you plan on doing for the vets and their health care? What do you plan on doing for the new vets coming home from Iraq?

Emilio Arriola, San Antonio.

A: Clinton: I will restore the (Bill) Clinton-era policy that opened the VA's excellent and cost-effective health care system to all veterans who seek to enroll. I will make a long-term commitment to the VA system to ensure it is adequately funded and has the capacity to avoid backlogs and to handle greater enrollments. And I will provide coverage through my American Health Choices Plan to all veterans who choose not to use the VA system.

I will commit to getting a fair, accurate and timely decision for every veteran filing a disability claim. I will increase the number of qualified VA evaluators to reduce the backlog of claims.

I will provide fast-track training for new claims specialists and expand the Benefits at Discharge Program to smooth the transition from service to discharge for all those who serve their country.

Obama: We'll build a 21st century VA and fully fund the VA medical center. The VA will also be at the cutting edge of my plan for universal health care, with better preventive care, more research and specialty treatment, and more vet centers, particularly in places like the Valley, where our veterans have to travel hours just to get basic care.

I will revamp an overburdened benefits system by hiring additional workers and creating an electronic system that is fully linked up to military records and the VA's health network.

I'll expand housing vouchers, and I'll launch a new supportive services housing program to prevent at-risk veterans and their families from sliding into homelessness ...

Q: How can you credibly argue that America can end its reliance on foreign sources of oil given America's massive energy consumption and current sources?

Neil Aquino, Houston.

A: Clinton: For our national security and for our environment, we need to develop alternatives to oil ... And though domestic production is important, we're not going to drill our way out of this problem ... I have proposed a Strategic Energy Fund that gives oil companies a choice: Either invest in biofuels and other clean energy technologies or pay a fee out of your profits into a fund. We also need to take back tax breaks that the oil companies don't need. And we will put those funds towards the development and deployment of clean energy technologies like solar, wind, biofuels and advanced vehicles.

Clinton's answers are 1000 times better than The Holy Obama's.

BTW, did everyone catch that Obama want's to ban 95% of all handguns, AND all other semi-automatic weapons?

That man WILL NOT win the WH when the republicans make that a well-known issues after the nominee is selected.

How many presidents have we had that held such a far-left view on gun-ownership?

Sounds like your a one issue voter. Obama can't ban anything without the consent of Congress and/or approval of the courts. He is not a dictator.

Not a one issue voter.....but 1 issue, if important enough, could keep me from voting for a guy (one issue would never cause me TO vote for someone though).

And no, he's not a dictator, but this Obama enthusiasm, the press' love of him, the unequivocal support of his flock of followers.....well, anything could happen right? We're better off not letting this guy get into office.

Ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons.

95% of handguns are semi-automatic weapons, meaning that you only have to keep pulling the trigger to fire off another round. Many hunting rifles (probably upwards of 70%) are semi-automatic. All so called "assault-rifles" are semi-automatic.

This man want's to effectively disarm America, and the popular electorate will not allow that, and when the national election takes place he will get slaughtered for it.

Obama is on record as wanting to ban the manufacture, sale, and use of all handguns as recently as 1996. But as a presidential candidate, his staff now says that he filled out a questionnaire wrong back then and didn't really mean that. So you decide.

If Obama ever said and meant - Foxfyre's blogs didn't give the original source - that he "supported banning the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns" - the would lead to a situation unique in the world.
