I expect Louisiana will too, as half the voters were African American.

Yes, and this is exactly what I was talking about. It's not that Obama didn't have a right to run, it's that I think he made more trouble for all of us, himself included by running in this election. One minority candidate at a time would have been a challenge. There are many situations in life in which we have a right to do something we want to do, but sometimes if we assert that right and act on it, it creates more trouble than it's worth. I'm afraid we've already lost this general election and it's too bad because we were so set up to win it. I'm so disappointed.

I think Obama does have a right. I just think it wasn't wise to exercise it now.

That's certainly one way to look at it. But there is another way. What if, just what if, nominating Hillary is like nominating John Kerry. What if she just couldn't win now. What if she would have done better in 2004 against Bush, with the electorate already totally divided but with her candidacy reminding everyone of how much better a president her husband was than Bush is. What if Obama running is actually the only real chance that the Democrats have to win this election, with the Republicans already internally acknowledging that they need to move center and the evangelicals planning to stay home.

Of course, I'm pulling all of this out of my ass. I don't know if Hillary can win in November. I don't know if Obama can. I'm just saying that wisdom is in the eye of the beholder.

Great news about Nebraska and Washington, and I think Louisiana will
also favor Obama.

CNN is saying that the Clinton camp is in a state of panic - they should!!

The more I think about it, the more I realize you're probably right. There is no real tradition of waiting your turn with the Democrats.

1) JFK didn't.
2) McGovern didn't.
3) Jimmy Carter didn't.
4) Walter Mondale was the Establishment candidate
5) Dukakis rose to the top of a field called "The Seven Dwarfs"
6) Bill Clinton, but there weren't any Establishment candidate who wanted to run against George HW Bush that year
7) Gore was the Establishment candidate
8) John Kerry was the Establishment candidate

Good thing they didn't because Clinton is ahead 41% to 38%

There's a real pattern here. Obama rules the caucuses.

Ditto Huckabee.

They're not in a state of panic. That's ridiculous. It's been know all along that Obama would win the next several primaries. What could be the purpose of reporting such an obvious lie?

Keep telling yourself that.

You can't LOSE many primaries in a row without the momentum seriously turning against you! It's unavoidable.

I don't lie, Lola. CNN reported it and in the meantime you've got the
European writing it too. Source

Perhaps you need a reality check, or you can continue playing the
Ostrich game.

What qualifies Hillary Clinton as the Democrat Party's "Establishment Candidate? And, which of those qualifications places her above any others?

I don't think she was calling you a liar, CJ. This is the new and improved Lola posting without rude or mean remarks. We're all trying to emulate her now.

What she probably meant is that the media reports of the panic are a lie. I'm not sure how she would know the state of the inner workings of the campaign, but I guess we should probably believe her since she's much more experienced and wiser about these things.
