Yep. Pretty basic. Pretty primal.

I think Hillary is showing her emotions, because she's seeing the presidency slip away - slowly but surely to Obama.

Could we get back on topic? There is an awful lot more to the Tatiana story but it needs to be dropped at this point.

That wasn't even Tatiana's first attack on a human. Her time had come. But you are certainly correct about this being the wrong thread to discuss it.

Hillary is a fake. Have we ever, ever seen her choke up about anything at anytime during her so-called "thirty-five years in public office"? Ever? Please. Someone refresh my memory because the Hillary I know would not ALLOW herself to choke up in public about a damn thing.

I'd like to take a moment to publicly apologize to O'Bill. After looking back at it and chewing on it for awhile, my characterizations of him over the last couple of days were not warranted.

O'Bill I apologize for accusing you of saying things you did not say, and for insulting you on the basis purely of your race and gender. It is something I would not stand for had it been done to me, and it is something I should not have done to you.

damn! that hurt! hope it was enough!

Why are we treating Hillary's emotional display any differently than anyone elses?

Edwards displayed a bit of emotion during the NH debate. Bush displays a bit of emotion on occasion when he speaks to victims of disasters.

She's in a very high pressure situation. Someone sneaked up on her with an empathetic question after a long round of rudeness from others. It caught her by surprise. I think that does humanize her. It doesn't change my mind about her as a candidate for president, but it does humanize her a bit. I don't blame her for showing a bit of emotion when someone surprises her with a little sympathetic understanding in a pressure situation. Happens to me quite often.

Chris Mathews must be in pig heaven. He gets to point at a woman and ask if emotion is a good quality in a president and make lots of PMS jokes.

That is very big of you, Snood. You are a better man than most and of course your apology is accepted. Sorry I responded in kind, rather than attempt to clarify the situation. Peace and GObama!

No worries. It was more than enough, my friend. I'd have settled for silence.

1) She is a woman.

2) She is known as the (what is it?) the Ice Queen.

3) She went through Monica Gate without showing emotion (publically)

Because that is what people are saying. I don't agree, I am only playing DEvil's Advocate.

BTW this Chris Matthews you mentioned has some serious sexuality/gender issues.

As I recall, there is one precinct in NH that opens the polls at 12:01 am. They claim to have a pretty good record.

Hat's off to you Snood. I'm sure it wasn't easy - but that's what makes it so admirable. We disagree on several issues; agree on others - but I always think you are a good guy - as is OCCAM Bill.

Did anyone else notice what a complete whore Mitt Romney is? It's all about change with him all of a sudden. "There's a need for change! That's MY message! I've been talking about change from the beginning! Change!Change, change, change. Chmmmppff...oops, wait, let me remove Barack Obama's **** from my throat while I finish telling you about chmmbbfffgcchhh..."

I loved the line that McCain had at the debates about Romney, "We disagree on a lot of issues, but you ARE the candidate for change." Laughing right at him, too. I loved it. Romney looks like a weasel to me right now and McCain kinda looks like he could really pull this off.

I noticed and agree McCain kicked him right in the teeth with that and the one about spending "all your money, but it still won't be true". Since they were clearly planned personal attacks, however, I think Rudy (as the only other obvious viable candidate) benefited most. It does look like it's McCain's race to lose... but I still wouldn't be shocked if he did.

I agree about georgeob. I've met OBill in Chicago, and find him to be a very congenial and generous guy. We hit it off pretty good face-to-face, but have had a few disagreements on a2k before and after the meet. That's to be expected; what counts is I consider him a friend. Heck, I have disagreements with my siblings all the time.

Some NH Voters Await Midnight Vote
By CLARKE CANFIELD

DIXVILLE NOTCH, N.H. (AP) - Voters in two small New Hampshire villages prepared to cast the initial ballots after the stroke of midnight Tuesday in the nation's first presidential primary.

Sixteen people were registered to vote at The Balsams Grand Resort Hotel. Another 29 people were prepared to vote at the Hart's Location town hall, about 75 miles away.

The middle-of-the night votes are closely watched, and the results are flashed worldwide moments after they are tallied.

State law allows towns with fewer than 100 people to open at midnight and to close as soon as all registered voters have cast ballots.

While most New Hampshire residents have to wait until around daybreak to vote, those in the two far northern towns have been going to the polls at midnight for decades. The Balsams, located about 20 miles from the Canadian border, has been holding its early bird voting since 1960. That's when former owner Neil Tillotson, who died in 2001, arranged for early elections by having Dixville incorporated solely for voting purposes.

Hart's Location began midnight voting in 1948 because most residents were railroad workers who had to be on the job during normal polling hours. Townspeople, weary of the media attention and the late hours, did away with it after the 1964 election but revived the practice in 1996.

In Dixville this year, there were three registered Republicans, one Democrat and 12 who were undeclared. Hart's Location had eight Democrats, eight Republicans and 13 undeclared.

With more candidates on the ballot - 42 - than voters in town, longtime Hart's Location town clerk Marion Varney, 86, wouldn't venture a guess Monday on how the voting would turn out. In 2004, Wesley Clark got the most Democratic primary votes in Hart's Location and Dixville.

"I don't even know for sure who I'm going to vote for," said Varney. "I think I might just close my eyes and mark the ballot."
