@cicerone imposter,
Not long after I married in the waning days of 1975, I bought a copy of Ms. magazine because it had an article on cloning.
I remember two pieces from that edition. One was on sharing labor within the family but the other was on the way in which society views a woman's time, particularly when that woman is a mother. The writer pointed out that not only do service people think a woman's time is without value -- e.g., the appliance repair man who says he will show up on Tuesday rather than making a specific appointment, meaning the woman is at his mercy in terms of her time -- but that many home hints columnists treat women's time as worthless. The illustration for the disrespect home hints writers show women was priceless: an article on the uses for dryer lint, including stuffing pillows. Really?
Well, okie the egotist, is a lot like the home hints writer. He so disrespects us that he expects you and cyclo and parados and I to comb through his worthless twaddle to find where he lied and what he said.
Here, he was lied that we have never done so. Inspired by ayn rand, okie/ican rails here against people who make little money. I work six days a week for my $24,800. However, my point is that I spend more hours working and commuting than okie does for less money than okie earns. I remember what I write and what I read. I don't have time for his tomfoolery. More importantly, I do not have an interest in reading his material. I do not finish most of his posts. They are badly written, poorly reasoned, full of insults and replete with lip prints as he kisses his own reflection.
Now, I suspect that the home hints writer cited by Ms all those years ago (see how much I remember) wasn't consciously evil, didn't consciously disrespect women. I suspect she was stupid. Years ago, I was sent a PM by an abuzzer who wrote: okie is simply dumb.
