@rabel22,
I never understood what was bad about ain't but this is the wiki take on it:

Ain't was preceded by an't, which had been common for about a century previously. An't appears first in print in the work of English Restoration playwrights: it is seen first in 1695, when William Congreve wrote I can hear you farther off, I an't deaf, suggesting that the form was in the beginning a contraction of "am not". But as early as 1696 Sir John Vanbrugh uses the form for "are not": These shoes an't ugly, but they don't fit me. At least in some dialects, an't is likely to have been pronounced like ain't, and thus the appearance of ain't is more a clarified spelling than a new verb form. The related word hain't is an archaic and non-standard contraction meaning has not or have not. It can be found in literature, particularly in Mark Twain's stories such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. It is reminiscent of hae (have) in Lowland Scots. Another old non-standard form is baint or bain't, apparently a contraction of "be not". This word is found in eye dialect forms written by a number of older writers, including J. Sheridan Le Fanu's Uncle Silas.
These words are not to be confused with the term haint, which is a slang term for a ghost, famously used in the novel To Kill a Mockingbird.

That is not what I wrote.

I wrote that he signed my name to loan agreements as though he had power-of-attorney.

Can you see the difference? I never said he had power-of-attorney. I never gave it to him.

This inability to read carefully causes nothing but trouble. I work hard to use exact language.

Sorry folks, but this gets at the heart of a prolific poster's credibility, and I think therefore it is pertinent. If your husband signed papers as if he had an authority that he did not have, then he committed fraud, and you should have contested the loans in a court of law. I told you this a long time ago when this came up, yet you persist in acting as if you were a helpless victim with no recourse whatsoever.

@ican711nm,
All of that only agrees with what we already know, Obama is a radical and probably a dictator wannabe. You don't have Marxist friends and appoint them because you don't know any better.

Yep, when something is taken from you and you dont stand up for yourself the act becomes one of charity. The fact that this so consistently gets redefined as victimization shows how badly the victim culture has warped the interface between the individual and the collective. The correct response is "dont whine" and when the comeback is "But I was too traumatized to speak" the correct reply is "please try to handle yourself better next time".

I was born in the Midwest in 1962, and back then we were still taught this basic bit of common sense. And so I have taught my kids.

Not to head off into an endless tangent, but in regard to Obama and his leadership ability, this is worth posting. I think it shows where Obama's true sympathies lie, and they are certainly not America. How can he even pretend to be a president of this country that cares about this country, that is what puzzles me. And it shows he has no understanding of founding principles, none, if he interprets them to promote such silliness.

"Obama Comes Out in Favor of Allowing Mosque Near Ground Zero

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama on Friday forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the country's founding principles demanded no less."

@okie,
True okie! All of that is what you and I and other conservatives posting here already know. Now I seek with your help to make it also inescapably known to the ODD (i.e., Obama Democrat Disassemblers). Yes, I realize the ODD will probably not admit to the reality of what they support, but they will make themselves look dumber denying it

Also, I'll post more of those "New Left Notes/, June 18, 1969" to help them look dumber denying what they support.

@ican711nm,
You can't be a Conservative. A conservative keeps the good and adopt what is newer and better. You adopt the worst from the past and reject the good.

Can you believe it, Obama promotes those that promote radical Islam build a monument to themselves right on the site where they killed almost 3,000 Americans. Didn't we hear that Obama was the great unifier? What a joke!! A very sad joke. The man is an insult to every decent American.

talk72000, a liberal, admits to his hatred of Jews and Christianity. I could not pass up the opportunity to point that out, as it has become increasingly evident out there for liberals.

Radical Islams want to build a monument (mosque) right on the site? Are you confident you have your facts right?

Talk72000, with that post you already have begun to further demonstrate your difficulty in acknowledging reality.

See,okie, all they need is a little help to make themselves look even dumber.

@realjohnboy,
Face it, rjb, many of the Islamics promoting this mosque do not oppose terrorist acts. In fact, you will find precious little active and effective opposition to terrorism or vigorous condemnation of 9/11 in the Islamic religion. I know that many would like to believe otherwise, or pretend to believe otherwise, as Obama is doing, but I think the facts speak otherwise.

Predictable, the liberals always go to their favorite tactic, start accusing conservatives of bigotry. kicky, try to post something intelligent for a change.
