Bill, you may wake up one day and realize you can stop drinking the mainstream media koolaid, and Obama koolaid, and try educating yourself a bit from the alternative media. It doesn't need to be Rush, it can be any one of the dozens out there, that have educated themselves and are trying to educate an ignorant population that swallows the crap put out there by the liberal media for the people the liberal media folks think are all as ignorant as they are.
Take a look at the title of this thread, you baffoon. Then look when it was started. Quite a few of us boarded this train LONG before the "mainstream media." How do you reconcile that with your ridiculous rambling?

I dont think that we know enough about Obama to know what he believes, but I know that I dont believe in free market capitalism anymore.

There ya go folks, even hawkeye is rudderless in the sea of economic confusion. And I thought you had a little common sense, hawkeye?

Look, if all of you guys are commies or socialists, then say so. No wonder this country is in a heap of trouble, the country has lost its way, the younger generation is lost. The educational system has totally failed.

I guess it merely indicates you and others are even more suckers than the media. I cannot believe that many people can be suckers for a guy that is that incompetent and that unamerican. We are in a heap of trouble, folks.

I'll take that bet...Reading someone else's flowery words with only a few ummms and strategic pauses and the occasional finger point is not difficult. James Earl Jones comes to mind as someone who reads better than Obama. Most pastors and tv/radio personalities do equally well. Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity do it as well or better than Obama. In fact, the narrations skills of pretty much every person that does "Books on Tape" can be favorably compared to Mr. Obama. It's not that hard...

This TOTUS is a pretty funny gag for us conservatives and you should leave it at that. You guys are getting awfully thin-skinned if you now feel compelled to defend how well your man reads from his teleprompter.

@slkshock7,
I'm going to agree with slkshock on this one; people can be "trained" or have a knack for teleprompter use. Beyond that, some people have the charisma to put across their message that's not necessarily based on intelligence.

I think Obama got a bum rap on the teleprompter/school thing, but this is funny and will probably make it's way to all those Sunday morning news shows:

Obama writes his own speeches for the most part; I read a great article detailing the life of his speechwriter during the campaign, who described himself as a 'highly-paid guy who polishes someone else's work.'

Nice try though.

You are trying to prove that Obama isn't a good orator, by pointing out that other people are also good. This is logically fallacious. The fact that others are good as well doesn't mean anything at all, re: Obama.

Your assertion that Limbaugh and Hannity are as good orators as Obama is such a joke, I don't even know where to begin. It is laughably ignorant on your part and so transparently partisan.

Imagine how funny it is to us, that this is what you have to stoop to to criticize the guy. This is what happens when you can't touch someone on substance - you turn to style and attack them there instead.

It's a pale shadow of the fun we had making fun of Bush, a true and complete idiot. You don't even know what you're missing out on.

"Free market capitalism" doesn't mean there shouldn't be laws and regulations to prohibit monopolies and fraud.

It was on Jimmy Kimmel last night, so you can be sure it was edited. There are plenty of unedited youtubes showing his distress when his teleprompter malfunctions, though. He does tend to stutter and stammer a lot, but that could be an "oh, crap" moment for most of us. Some handle it better than others.

BTW, here's a photo of him stopping by a committee meeting yesterday and you just gotta say "oh, come on!" LOL. A committee meeting?!?!

@okie,
Were you sleeping during Bush's two terms? He left things to market forces, and put aside government controls and regulations. The result was a disaster for the country. For the first time in history, there was a net loss of jobs. There was a major bank and real estate crash. Incomes for those in the middle and lower classes declined. Etc., etc.!

Ohhh, so you are basing your assessment on "a great article" you read that quoted some guys humble deprecations about himself. That certainly convinces me....

I will take the President at his word that he wrote his 1994 address to the DNC by himself. And he probably wrote most of his two books. But you're fooling yourself if you think he sits down behind a computer and writes his speeches. I'm sure he has input and approves final version (just as every President), but I would hope he's spends more time on those more important things to do (like the economy, healthcare, jobs, etc.) than word-smithing the many speeches he gives everyday.

Yes, but Obama's only been around to pick on for a year. I'm sure that he'll succeed in proving he's "a true and complete idiot" in far less time than it took Bush.

Bush proved it somewhere around -90 days into his cycle; does Obama have a time machine, perhaps?

Don't know if you watched the SOTU last night, but Obama once again showed why he is in a different class than other Orators on our modern scene. You guys knock him, but can't touch him on that one.
