I remember seeing this painting in a book years ago. I don't know the era or the region.
The subject matter is a young girl in bed and a naughty-looking personified cat holding back a curtain to reveal her.
I have been thinking about this painting for YEARS. I would love to find out who painted this so I can see other works.

Are you sure it was a painting and not an illustration? What kind of book - a story book, an art book?
It sounds like it would be from the surrealist genre, but without more information I think it will be impossible to find.
