Hmm, all these wonderful teamwork things in WoW, can't we do them in real life and gain more realistic experience from it? Aside from that, WoW is a competition to see who can spend more time playing, and uses a standard variable-ratio schedule of reinforcement (meaning you randomly get cool stuff if you keep playing, so you keep playing to see what you get) to keep you hooked. A variable-interval reinforcement schedule is a really simple psychological tactic, and it saddens me how well it works... by the way it's the exact same tactic used to keep you hooked in casinos.
