Hmmm, someone told me about those. I'm sorely tempted.

SpotBot is excellent. Any spot, spill, or stain, you simply set it on the area and push the button to clean it. Three different buttons. One for a short cycle, one for a long cycle, one for using the hand brush.

It cleans about a six inch-diameter circle. I'm working my way through the house, room by room, which is a little time-consuming. But once the carpets are clean, no more problem keeping them that way!

The Romba...does it really suck?

I just bought a Bissell Lift Off because it sucks so much. I love it.

The Spot Lifter. Really works huh?

hmmmm....

The Roomba doesn't suck that much; it's more like a motorized carpet sweeper. But it works well, and I can start it in a room, close the door, and come back later to a clean carpet.

I considered naming it "Lubbock," but I was overruled. I should have suggested "Jenna Jameson" first....

DrewDad,

By any chance can you just set a button on that thing and it can just work it's way through the house? I need one that I can turn on in the morning and just let it work all day. I am serious. I need one of these things that will work for me. Keeping up with these cats sometimes gets tough.

This model only has enough charge for about 1/2 an hour, so one room at a time.

They have a premium model that will return to its docking station, recharge, and go back to work.

we bought a roomba when they first came out. We have random width plank floors that have gaps that collect pet hair in a week. the roomba didnt have enough oomph to do one room because the floor gaps would send its little training module all askew. It was more work than it was worth so I sold it at an auction and almost got what we paid for it. It would keep redocking and it ran down too quickly for our sprawling rabbit warren style of a house.

I have always thought that the people who buy those sort of gadgets are the same group of people that have a star named after them.

Roomba is manufactured by IRobot--a tribute to the late, great Isaac Asimov.

Mr. Noddy has a Roomba. I'm sure the IRobot Customer Service people toss coins to decide who has to take his latest call.

He has a wonderful time playing with an imperfect machine. Occasionally he also uses it to clean house.

More like the Terminator... We're glad that Yaya isn't named Sarah.
