A few fresh glitches to report:

This afternoon around 4 pm I was unable to access some threads, via new posts. Got to the tread, but there was nothing but a pale blue page. No text. That seems to have cleared up now.

And this one:

Tried to access The Cat Room & got this message via the hamsters:

Hamster 8756434 reports - No posts exist for this topic

It's been that way for a few hours now.

Aw! It's enough to make a cat twitch!

Sad

That happened to me.

Just click on the page before the last one, and voila....at least, it worked for me.

That one happens reasonably frequently.

Oh well.....I've been trying to post things this morning, but I'm giving up yet again.

This always seems to happen toughly between 2am and 3am A2K time.
(Around 9 - 10am UK)

I think I'll just give up on my morning posts for a while, as it's too frustrating.

I shall now go and have a chamomile tea, in order to calm down.

(Hope that this post gets throgh)

same here LE. managed to get 1 post in at 2.18 am board time, then gave up. 2.18 board time is 8.15 pm Aust. Peak time here.

Hamsters should work shifts instead of all sleeping at once.

'twas off before...kept getting the Website not responding message, then it slowly came up... then it began to accelerate... seems to have something to do with the rising of the sun. Yup. Strange as it may seem, I have noticed in the past week or so, that as the hour before the rising of the sun commences, the speed of the internet seems to increase. Solar power...you can't beat it.

So, are you saying it's better to light a hamster on fire than to curse the darkness? I think PETA might have something to say about that.

I wonder if you can get a buzz from smoking hamsters.

This problem has become quite a lot worse over the last week or so, so much so that it is difficult, ot impossible to access A2k at times when I might normally use it.

It is after midnight, and the site is still extremely slow, and it was pretty slow all day today (though I wasn't round so much to try)

So, I suspect I won't be round very much until things are better.

Just a heads up, cos sometimes people think stuff if you disappear.

Lol! Having said that, it will probably be perfect for the next few days!

Yep, I agree, Deb. It appears to have gotten considerably worse. I already spend a lot less time A2King during the week, simply because the "slow time" is my peak time! (after dinner, with a bit of time up my sleave. It's just too late, after 11:00, or 11:30 pm, if I'm working the next day. Sad )

That is simply a safeguard to keep the Aussies at bay.

It seems that the measures we put in place were too blunt a tool and it's apparently bothering enough non-Ozfolk to merit reconsideration.

Until this all blows over I think we should have the Aussiewall Function to run once a week instead of nightly and have configured the function to do so.
