Namely, beween about 8.00 pm and 10.00 pm my time (Australian Central Standard).

Same is true for at least Msolga, I know.

Fairly often completely unavailable at times during those hours.

I assume, of course, some sort of automatic maintenance is occurring....but giving you a heads up, since this is a problem that has been occurring for only a couple of weeks, or so, for me, anyway, and I thought you might like to know.

Same for you, Msolga?

When I say slow, I mean taking several minutes...you know, going off and having a cup of coffee, writing a book, that sort of stuff, slow. Often that becomes just a blank screen, or the unable to connect message.

More just a heads up than a moan.

That is simply a safeguard to keep the Aussies at bay.

Yeah...down time for the IMPORTANT time zones....

It's the equivalent of A2k doing its nuclear testing in OUR time zone...like the Northern Hemisphere likes to do its in our Hemisphere.

We be a poor downtrodden folk, we in this time zone.

Nobody cares about us.

Oh woe is us.......but, you know, you people will be the first up against the clocks when the revolution comes.....

Yes, exactly how you describe it, Deb. Last night it was happening around 11:30 (Oz time) when I came online late. On a quite a few occasions I haven't been able to post or access threads at all. A few nights of this in a row & you sort of give up trying, early. Too time consuming & frustrating. I've noticed that's that when the repeat/repeat/repeat posts happen, too.

Well, if someone's trying to keep us out, Gus, they're doing a good job of it!

It's just that you guys haven't been well-behaved lately, msolga, and there's getting to be quite a bit of grumbling around A2K.

Stuff like "Damn Aussies" and "I wish they'd stay home and mind their own damn business!"

I've noticed it in the wee hours of local mornings here, US Central Time. Seems to me, from the symptoms I get and which others describe, its a server load issue, but any definitive answer prolly would hafta come from CdK. I recall mention sometime back of recurring scheduled maintenance and resultant site sluggishness, but I can't find the reference at the moment. Pretty sure I didn't imagine it, though.

Then again, it could be an intentional inconvenience tossed Ozwards just to irritate the natives there ... thats perfectly plausible, and not at all without justification.

By "server load issue" do you mean the A2K server? (Sorry, Ms Luddite here!) And the number of people actually online? If so, it's a pretty quiet time.

I think its international servers, either directing traffic out of OZ or into the U.S. cause its only a problem for the two international forums that i post on that the problem occors. OZ forums are ok they work fine.

Actually every other internet site I go to (Oz or international) is fine during A2K's "slow time". I've checked a few times to see if it's my ISP.
