For those of us who appreciated the genius of the man, this is a treat. Kevin Spacey will play Darin (although Ed Norton is a dead ringer for Darin). All the songs in the film will be with Darin's own voice.

Darin died in '73 at the age of 37 from complications of heart surgery and left as an eclectic a career as they come. From R&R ditties like "Splish Splash" and "Dream Lover," to the definitive version of the Kurt Weil song from The Three Penny Opera: "Mack the Knife" to his sounding more like Sinatra at his best than Sinatra on "Beyond the Sea," to his move to folk music with Tim Hardin's "If I were a Carpenter," Darin could sing anything and make it sound great.

He was nominated for an Academy Award for his acting, is in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.
If any of you are not familiar with Bobby Darin's music, you are missing out on a singer who many expected to surpass Sinatra as the premier interpreter of popular modern music in America, and an actor who had only begun to scratch the surface of his abilities at the time of his death.
His best films were:
Captain Newman MD (AA nomination)

A John Cassavetes film I just loved about a musician's troubles about selling out, called "Too late Blues"

And my favorite, especially since I saw it the day after Marin Luther King was killed, where he played an American Bundist/Nazi as a patient with Sidney Poitier playing his psychiatrist, called "Pressure Point."
