This is one of those unique mixtures of science and art that turns into something that baffles the eye. It is called
ferrofluid - a material composed of tiny magnetic molecules suspended in a fluid medium that is used to dampen the signal of stealth airplane paint, detect cancer, and stabilize buildings as they move around in the wind.
Two japanese artists have taken this substance and turned it into a dynamic piece of art that really can't be described unless you watch the movie.

Sachiko has taken this idea of liquid architecture more literally with these stunning sculpture made from Ferrofluid which changes its state by the introduction of electro-magnetic waves into the [fluid] turning it solid.
