My friend and i would like to see this film.It was supposed to be released last Fridaybut we cant find it playing at any local cinema(in the UK).
Does anybody know the reason why?
Regular U.K. release date scheduled for 13 January per IMDB.
I could have sworn it said the 6th.
One place is showing it with subtitles this thursday then releasing it properly on the 13th.
My local cinema will only list up till 12th.
How long before the porn industry comes up with a film entitled "Brokebutt Mountain"?
Mark my words....it will happen.
I think somebody on the radio this morning suggested Strokebum Mountain.
How about TwoBack Mountain or......
Broke Back Mount Him...
Hhehehehehehe.
I really want to see it now.Heath and Jake getting jiggy,oh and of course the love story aspect.
Bareback Mountain: a tale of getting to the bottom.
I saw BM last night and I thought it was gorgeous.
2 manly hunky men hugging and loving each other!!
I had a tear in my eye in the end and my friend was in floods of tears.
There was hardly any nooky, a bit was lustful but most of it was tender and loving.
A beautiful romantic love story.
I met my friends in the cinema yesterday, when my friends husband went to buy the tickets he said '2 tickets for the gay cowboy film please'.
There's still a debate on Rotten Tomatoes about the "gay cowboy" lable. If they'd actually read the reviews and seen the movie, they'd realize that lable was likely place on the movie by naysayers. However, they both came from their parent's ranches where it wasn't specific if they had cattle and Jack was a rodeo performer, a bonefide cowboy. The sheep hearding was a fill in job, Ennis to make money for his marriage and Jack to make money between rodeo gigs. The term has been take as generic for a demography as well. Jack, of course, tries to offer Ennis a life running a "cow and calf operation."
Since you've seen the movie, you know the power of the story -- anyone not touched and moved by the film should have their pulse taken. It might also be a good idea to make an appointment with a doctor for an MRI.
It's a tribute to the two actors that they had more chemistry on the screen in a love story than most movies I can remember. I realize a great deal of the credit goes to Ang Lee for directing and the script which tells more of the story without dialogue than with dialogue.
Talk about chemistry, it was sizzling!! and so beautiful.
The bit where the 2 shirts were intertwined just started the mini crying session I had.
Its not like they were just on the saem hanger, they were placed one inside the other, like a metaphorical hug!!!!!!
I took my client, Sandy, and Ralph who is the director of the gallery. I had read the story so I knew what to expect and still could not hold back the tears. But those two -- they were audibly sobbing as well as those around me. I think the two shirts is going to become an iconic image in cinema. It's a desktop background on the film's site.

I remember that from the story.
I'm still not quite over that they actually were so faithful to it.
Gotta see it.
It's expanded, of course, but only because of the visuals. Otherwise it's one of the most faithful adaptations I have ever see, the major change being one I've mentioned before regarding the physical attractiveness of the two characters.
Let's not forget where it all started...Annie Proulxs short story in The New Yorker left a big impression on me. Her Shipping News also was a good movie.
"The Shipping News" was a good adaptation but not a great one. I've never been quite sure what happened there as all the performances were excellent. There was some emotional thread missing from the movie I couldn't put my finger on. There was nothing missing from "Brokeback."
Light wizard, what do you mean about the physical attractiveness of the characters?
I loved The Shipping News, I was very surprised to have liked it so much.
