Just a comment. I was surprised to see that new 4wd Mazda B-2600 pickups and cab & chasis here come standard with 16" wheels. My considerably larger Dodge Dakota up in the states came with !5 inchers. My '74 Ford F-250 4x4 came factory equipped with 16 inchers which seems to me understandable but a Mazda? Of course the smaller engined 2wd B-2200 comes with 15 inchers.
Yeah, I saw a full size ford pickup in the showroom that looked like they were awfully big. Sure enough, 18". That's big, and probably expensive.
Well, bigger wheels will roll over bigger bumps, and it takes a bit more for them to get stuck. They are going to be heavier, though, and require a stiffer suspension to keep them on the road.
