This December 31, there are several options to watch the New Year arrive.
The most well known is probably Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2006 on ABC.He will be hosting with Ryan Seacrest of FOX's American Idol and Hilary Duff, who will be performing in L.A. Music will be performed by Hilary Duff, Mariah Carey, The Bangles, Chris Brown, Sean Paul, Sugarland, The Pussycat Dolls, 3 Doors Down, and 311.
Regis Philbin, who filled in for Clark last year, will be hosting on FOX, replacing Seacrest, who is working with Clark on ABC. Performers include Nick Cannon, Tyler Hilton, John O'Hurley, Donald Trump, and Carrie Underwood.
NBC's special will be hosted by Carson Daly. Interspersed throughout the evening will be Brian Williams reviewing the year's top stories. Music will be by Mary J. Blige.
On cable station MTV, host will be Stephen Colletti, Laguna Beach star. Music performed by Nelly, Paul Wall, Kanye West, Shakira, Fall Out Boy, Young Jeezy, All-American Rejects, Common, annd Adam Levine.
For news junkies, CNN and FOX News will have specials.
Anderson Cooper, the new star on CNN, will host from Times Square. Music by James Brown, Brooks and Dunn, John Mayer Trio, Barenaked Ladies, and Harry Connick Jr.
Dayside hosts on FOX News, Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy, will be live from New York. They will discuss the year in sports with New York Giants Tiki Barber, trials with Bob Massi, entertainment with Bill McCuddy, the media with Eric Burns, and Katrina with Shepard Smith. Musical performances by Aaron Tippin and Phil Vassar.
