For shooting in the rain, you can do it if you use a big bag and leave the end open for the lens to shoot through.

I'm a little too clumsy for that anymore.

You can try shooting through the plastic but as my photo teacher once said about clear fitlers .... "why do you want to put a $50 piece of glass in front of a $400 piece of glass!? Are you crazy!?"

I would never take a camera that was not rated for underwater use underwater in any circumstances without a proper housing. You can buy "houses" for a variety of cameras but shop around. My little camera cost under $400 and sometimes a housing, depending on the camera, can cost close to that.

My camera is rated for up to 5 feet underwater for up to 30 minutes. Cameras are not dissimilar to watches for underwater ratings.

Actually, I didn't want to take my new camera underwater ( Shocked ), but was thinking that some shots in the rain might be okay.

Wouldn't dream of it if it didn't have any protection though.

Ahhh, dlwoan.

Now I'm really understanding how you know so much about the things I ramble on about with Mo....

I'm sorry that you learned in such a hard way but I am glad to be a beneficiary of your knowledge.

I've said it before --- you honor your sister.

I don't think so. Cost a bundle with accesories and all. Last time I looked it was like $1200 Cdn. So, you tend to baby something that cost that much.

And it was a luxury item, as far as I'm concerned.

Sob!!! I am so glad to hear you listen to him!!!! I came home one day, when I was twelve, to find my mother had given ALL my toys, every last one, to the charity shop. WITHOUT ASKING ME< OR EVEN TELLING ME! I was utterly devastated.....lost so much of what little (if any) security I had. Like, I would have been happy to cull.....but everything was gone, stuff I would still treasure today (like my dead sister's special doll).[/quote wrote:

Both the miniBlaise's mother and myself have had similar situations to what yours. His mother went walk about after high school and came back two years... wasn't good. Probably the greatest parental guide I use is to try and make different mistakes than the ones my parents did so no tossing anything till he's ready and no cod liver oil.

I can't speak in your defense but I will say there seems to be a trend as folks get older they start lightening up on crap and clutter and what's easier than someone elses stuff. Still, it's shitty to have to deal with.

THANK GOD I AM HOME.

<Three deep breaths>

Does someone know how to perform CPR on one's dominion? I'm afraid I've nearly strangled mine. The poor thing's still alive, but just barely.

I'm going to go fix myself another Bailey's on the rocks. See you tomorrow, folks. Good to see you all survived.
