Ian McEwan's new book......

And I AM a night person, forced by work to traverse the weary, stale, glaring hours of daylight, and eschew my natural medium, the night.

I have reverted to my natural rhythm (going to sleep at 3 to 4 am, and waking at 11 or so) while I have been on leave.....having to train myself back to the horrid exigencies of 9 to 5 life.

Ah, Ian McEwan! I see.

You'd be very suited to (night) shift work, Deb.
I often wonder what sort of lives those wee small hours of the morning folk on the ABC have. (On the odd occasion when I can't get to sleep I turn on the radio for a bit of distraction.)

Funny Aussies! They are off to bed probably because the bed is outside...

That's what we did! We had a sort of a holiday mash-up. (I'm half-Jewish, sozlet's a quarter.) Gelt in the stockings, menorah amongst the fresh evergreens.

Dlowan, I woke up this morning (reluctantly) with "My time of day is the dark time..." going through my head. (Song from a Broadway musical of some sort, not sure which.)

Only if it's a very large wallaby.

Gelt in stockings, oy! Smile Should send some to the Italian nephew, but I don't know how fresh it'll be when it arrives (the gelt, not the stocking, which I assume he already has). Hmmm.

I would happily buy them one-way tickets to Australia. Shall I tell them they're staying with you, Deb? Twisted Evil

Good idea. Where does one buy rotten eggs, I wonder?

Then there's the matter of them recognizing the postmark from Tulsa. How 'bout I send 'em to you first, and you can forward them to Wichita Falls? They'd never suspect me if a package came from Oz.

It worked for SealPoet and the mailed Twinkies Cool

Oscar has been my sweet cat for lo these nearly thirteen years.

I won't do that to him.

Yes, he is.

It is the rellies who won't be.

I slept on the sofa.

Don't they have them in America?

I seem to have my own natural supply.

Does it count when the factory is internal, and automatic?

What good is having contacts on the other side of the world if one can't send enemies there?
