@OmSigDAVID,
No reason, I just thought itd be nice to say that I found the guy that first said that.
I can then bask in Fido's celebrity.

Remember that the appreciation of genius is second only to genius itself. (I didnt make that up, Im leaving the author anonymous)

I wrote an article once, on 2nd Amendment jurisprudence (pre-HELLER),
wherein I had quotes of wisdom from unknown sources.
(OBVIOUSLY, quoted judicial authority was perfectly well known.)

I avoided any accusations of plagiarism
by writing my article anonymously.

(OK, OK, I suppose I coud have written "author unknown".)

@OmSigDAVID,
To adopt whole sections from another writers textual content IS plagiarism and its difficult to understand why you would try to hide the fact that, at the least, you were more broadly read and could , at will, recall an appropriate homily from someone who shared your ideas.

On A2K we have a few notorious plagiarists who dont even use quotes or quote marks and plop stuff from others, often out of context and generally waaay off the mark.
I wont divulge who are the culprits or the major culprit. Thats beyond the scope of this post.

I understand your concept.
That issue did not arise. If there were a LONG passage,
then its author 'd be likely to be identified.
I had too many quick quips (of unknown authorship)
that memorably got the point across
and one upon which I embellished, at some length.

I was not comfortable with associating my own name therewith.
Plagiarism cannot exist if no one takes the credit for the text in question.

Definitionally, plagiarism is stolen credit
for someone else 's text. It is IMPOSSIBLE to falsely aggrandize myself, if no one knows who I am.
