Giverny - Monet's garden. I visited a couple of years ago and it's an amazing place.


Cornwall - the St Ives and Newlyn Groups last century and a current really active lot now - one favourite is Kurt Jackson but there are lots of others, You could google for them - also look at The Great Atlantic Mapworks Gallery online - lots of exciting contemporary work to see.

Cornwall is beautiful.

Scotland - the Scottish Colourists last century and the current artists still influenced by them - lots of exciting paintings to see if you google Scottish Colourists (please not correct spelling of colour!!!!! not the US version or you won't find them!)

I lived in St. Ives for about 18 months in the mid-sixties. Beautiful.

you did? lucky you <sigh> - I lived further north in Cornwall when I was young and loved it there. I visit when I can.

I was married to the first Mr. Noddy who had come into a small legacy and was trying to write a novel.

The novel remains unwritten....

Paris was a big inspiration to ...well Parisian artists, I think people like Henri Toulose Letrec and others.
He painted the dancing in the Moulin Rouge.
Van Gogh painted fields, even a chair.

The Lake District in the UK is gorgeous.
Id imagine country areas of Japan and China must be amazing.
