I misunderstood the original post by CatFish - but, still, I don't think that this second life for them would be better than their natural one.

I imagine that the coyotes you do see aren't on their game. Like cj said, you don't tend to see them.

Most humans were raised to live civilized, most coyotes were not.

So, the chickadees changed to their spring song on March 14th. That was heartening. The turkey vultures arrived back on the scene, checking out the winter dead the week after the chickadees started getting frisky. This week, the turtles started sunning themselves atop logs....... Finally.....

All of the animals are getting frisky. Today I saw dead on the road a raccoon, a large beaver, at least one skunk, a few unidentifiable furballs, and something that made me a little sad. This morning a male and female mallard had apparently decided to nest near the sign to my development, right next to a major roadway. This afternoon, Mr. M was flattened to perfection.

This kookaburra was sitting on my back fence this morning. People from other countries may know this bird as the Laughing Jackass. we dont use that term here.
They catch and eat snakes, lizards, insects and baby birds (given the chance)

I've never heard them called lauging jackasses! They are part of the kingfisher family. We have kingfishers along waterways here.....

Sounds like that one was really into the "wild" life.

I recall we had to learn that song in 5th grade. The, er, first verse only, that is.

Heard rather than saw a mockingbird yesterday. Once again, doing its best impression of a car alarm. I guess they pass that down from parent to child as I have not heard that sort of a car alarm since, man, I think 2 summers ago.

Right now Louis is doing his best impression of a carpet shredder chasing a marble around the living room.

And when he catches said marble, I hope he doesn't eat it.

Why would he eat a marble? He's not a dog. Besides, it's his favorite toy.
