I think we agree it's best to see her thread stay on topic.
Good behavior in the Spirituality & Religion Forum?
<gasp!>
As might be expected from present company.

Well, good behavior may not be rampant in this forum, but it happens
Here's Neo's Free Will thread-starter, if any care to chase it down and play with it.
Thanks, timber. I plan to tune in to nancy regularly.
Timber
Timber I knew you would be there when I wasn't home yet! I had breakfast with Hawk this morning and we had a nice talk about A@K and all of you! In facy we spoke about about the meeting he got the chance to go to and I didn't because I went to my evening of rcolllection. He said about 15-16 went there and he said he never laughed so hard! He ate steak tips and the moderators had A@K hats on! They had a great time. He said he posted his experiences somewhere under new posts. He spoke lots this a.m. about Timber and how bright He is and how hekpful he is and how I should study hard what he wrote to me last week about postings! I will Timber! I promise! We talked lots this a.m. about how nice it is to have great conversations with people and how they show you God!
_____________________________________________________________Today's posting comes from a Daughter of St Paul who mailed it to me.
Psalm 55: 22--- You really need to read this. "Friends are God's way of taking care of us."
This was written by a hospice of Metro Denver Physician...
I just had one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and wanted to share it with my family and with my dearest friends: I was driving from a meeting this evening about 5, stuck in traffic on Colorado Blvd., and the car started to choke and sputter and die. I barely managed to coast, cursing, into the gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic and would have a somewhat warm spot to wait for the tow truck. It wouldn't turn over. Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the "Quickie Mart" building, and it look like she slipped on some ice and fell into the Gas pump, so I got out to see if she was okay.
When I got there it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up and gave it to her. It was a nickel.
At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (i in the car seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95.
I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying, "I don't want my kids to see me crying." So we stood on the other side of the pump away from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now. So I asked,"Are you praying?" That made her back away from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, "He heard you, He sent me."
I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her pump completely, and while it was fueling, walked to the the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food for the family, some gift certif. for more later and a big cup of coffee for the lady. She gave the food to the kids in the car, who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little.
She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City. Her boyfriend left 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet. She knew she would not be able to make the rent for January 1st and finally in desparation she had to call her parents, with whom she had not spoken in 5 years. They lives in California and she could come live with them and try to get on her feet out there.
So she packed up everything she owned in the car. She told the kids that they were going to California for Christmas, but not that they were going to live there.
I gave her my gloves, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road. As I was walking over to my car, she said, "So, are you like an angel or something?"
This definitely made me cry. I said," Sweetie, at this time of the year angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people."
It was so incredible to be part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got my car started right away and got home right away with no problems. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to check, but suspeck that the mechanic won't find anything wrong with it!
Sometimes the angel fly close enough to you you can hear the flutter of their wings
Psalm 55:22 "cast your burdens upon the Lord and He shall sustain you He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
One never knows what happens in one's day that bespeaks of God.....Listen to Him! Have a wonderful day folks

Friends and family are truly a gift from God. But what is A@K? Is it simply a typo of A2K?

neo
I never doubted you, Neo! I have been thinking about your question yesterday. I know God is all-knowing and that He is all-good. and that I was taught that He knows all all of the time.
That was my Catholic school and public school mostly with a baptized Catholic religion education.
I read the Catechism of the Catholic Church very often. And Canon Law often. It has all of our dogma in it. But what God wants is out faith and our heart Neo--n matter what our faith or religion! Our Pauline Family is all around the world in all cultures. We serve all people no matter what they are!
Nancyann
thank you for posting. It was good hearing from you.

We take religious vows of poverty, chasitiy and obedience and have a religious superior to whom wo share our life's journey's and monthly reports on how things are going.
We have annual retreats together and meet in various parts of the USA together. We share phone calls during the year, e-mails for support and have ample time to share with our director. One must be Catholic to join and unmarried.
We have a postulancy, noviciate and a junurate all at home but all lasting for about 7 years in total of spiritual formations, direction and readings from a director in the Institute and from the Priest of the Institute!
The vowed life is such a fulfilling life that I just wanted to share it with you since it is not a common one. I have been under vows since I was 21 years old, over 25 years now and still happy!
Interesting...
Of course with me, it's a matter of being a gay man who took vows of poverty...school teacher wages aren't what some people think...I got the chastity thing going too as well as good old fashioned celibacy
All joking aside though, it was refreshing to read your post.
As for the Catechism you asked on, here is a web site for it
Catechism of the Catholic Church for future reference you can do a google search for it as well.
I am so glad that you tune in. Nancyann

Nancy I just founf this topic - read a pege here an there - interesting things - and honestly seems like a peaceful sort of discussion compare to alot of other R&S discussions going.
Yeah, this is why I keep coming back here. Not saying much, but am paying attention.
I'll have to say that I just finished reading the whole thread, interested in neo's and timbers discussion.
Also, reading nancy's prayers and thoughts on starting each day fresh, offering it to God, and the reminder that God is all present, really gave me a peaceful feeling.
Someone should tell phoenix about this one.
