a) Steal something valuable from the past
b) Make a bet on a sporting event or play lottery numbers

It depends, are you making dinner or boiling chicken for chicken salad......both are good.

OK, do you make chicken salad with mayo and pickles or do you use Aunt Pitty-Pats recipe

Aunt Pittypat never shared the recipe...she insisted on being buried with it (and refused to tell us where)
My chicken salad includes a diced raw onion.

Paper plates or regular dishes for a medium sized dinner party (under 20 people)
