The reason Pfeiffer's catsuit doesn't look that good in stills is because they went with the "sexier-when-covered-up" school of costume design. You're right, soz. It was hot. Especially in motion.

You may be right, snood.

However, the thread is about catsuits. Theron's latest, in particular. My point is that she's lost the curves she needs to pull off this look. Catsuits are all about showing off sexy curves. Don't you agree?

Now, if you'd like to start a thread about Charlize's latest intellectual pursuits, I'd be more than happy to participate.

Oh! You deleted your post! Why'd you do that, snood?

I agree, it's just kind of wrong. The dull fabric instead of shiny (all except the icky triangle Smile ), the funny fit over the "boobage" (I like that term, Sozobe), it's not good. And from what I hear, neither is the movie...

Because, as you aptly pointed out - and I considered later - the thread is about the catsuit, so it isn't unreasonable to direct so many comments at her appearance...

I wrote a post that commented on contributing to the objectification of women, then deleted it because of the reason I mention above.

But, for the record, I don't contend that we need to artificially create and then comment on any "intellectual pursuits" of Ms Theron. My point is more that, when there are women in the spotlight who should be considered for what they say or think, they inevitably become the object of a billion fashion critics. Admittedly Ms Theron is in a line of work that opens her to such scrutiny. My point is that women can't have it both ways - complain that they aren't taken seriously, AND participate in the public excoriations of women who deserve better.

Much! I notice there's a lot of boobage frou-frou, though, making them look bigger than they actually are, so maybe they are smallish to start with.

Yeah, but then there's this, what you call, frou-frou (I'm totally at a loss for vocabulary describing clothing, thats why I long ago dropped out of the What are you wearing today thread), right across the front as well, from breasts till waist, and it just looks kind of childish. Like how your mum would design it if she designed a catsuit for you. (Same with the breasts.)

I only now realised it was just kind of stripes that are pasted on top of the fabric, it looks like - I initially thought it was just kind of frilly fabric, which totally doesnt make sense in a hot-action catsuit.

To be honest Snood, I'd never even heard of Ms Theron before, so all I know about her is what these pics show, notably the catsuit ... so thats obviously all I'm commenting on ;-)

Hmm, frou-frou, to me, is more about like feathers or ruffles or something sticky-outy. The boobs on the catsuit are, by contrast, pressy-inny. (If you don't have the vocabulary, make it up...)

Where did her ass go? Seriously. That chick had a bangin' body and now she's like a stick. No boobs no butt. Oh Charlize.....where have you gone??
I think this was one in her "younger years".

The Aeon Flux character is a comic-book character, and her costume is considerably, um..., racier? More revealing? Impossible?

It just isn't humanly possible for a live-action character to look like that.

Crazy, the expectations our society has nowadays.

I dont think she had boobs to begin with.
Well.. she HAS boobs... but not buh-ZONGAS.. just... sprouts..

so the little lumps in the cat suit are hers.

Monster- she wore alot of prosthetics..(sp?)
teeth, hair, hips, i even believe they gave her a belly to wear because her body didnt gain the weight in the middle that fit the character..
I dont know if this info is in print or not. I remember it from the movies special features..

Aeon Flux... I cant wait to see it..

and yeah, as DD pointed out
Aeon Flux usually wore next to nothing..And when she did wear more then nipple covers, the style was alot like the cat suit they have on Theron.

though,... >yuck< i think it looks like cheap cloth.
Arent cat suits supposed to be leather, spikey, small holes in all the right places.. skin like outfits???

I can't believe we are talking about catsuits and nobody has mentioned Halle Barry as Catwoman.

Black, tight leather with just enough material to keep everything where it is supposed to be and curves in all the right places... to bad the acting sucked.
