I loved this movie. We need more movies where folks break out in song!
Have you ever seen indian movie? 50% of it is singing.
I don't like a movie to have so much singing, a movie is movie, a concert is consert!
10% singing is ok, but not more.

"Luvverly" is exactly how a Cockney will pronounce lovely.
"Cor, luvverly grub"
My dad sounded just like Eliza's dad (I'm getting married in the morning, etc), and in actual fact, used to sing that song at our family parties.....only when he'd had a few beers though.

That thought did cross my mind.
Well, I was just guessing about the loverly song.
Near-enthusiast, I've heard that Indian movies are very much like the movies made in the US in the 50's; very sweet and innocent to the point of being syrupy.
LordE, your father sounds like he must have been lots of fun. Tell us about some of the parties.
one of my favorite paintings.
It's hanging in my new library.
I prefer Pygmalion to My Fair Lady - in terms of the story. Makes more sense to me.
My Fair Lady is a wonderful 1960's film. Singing, pretty costumes. But the revised plot - not so much.
That is what I first told him to read the Greek story of Pygmalion.
Oh Gosh that's a cute avatar ehBeth!!!!!
