it syas only one can live while the other survives. and that could apply to voldemort and neville too.
so if voldemort kills harry then neville kills voldemort then surely that completes the prophecy?
I agree it would be crap if harry dies though...
He has to die.
Not that I know anything about HP.But how can he ever be an adult? No!He must die.It is merely a question of how.spendius dies on a cross with a jest upon his lips.A victim of circumstances. If JK can't emulate Flaubert's portrayal of the blind forces which killed his hero then she's not as good a writer as Flaubert. Then what?
Thanks spendy.
That was urm, interesting.
Hows the pub?
This is dumb. We're just agreeing with each other!

Very much only a theory, but tell me what you think.
i said about the whole death thing, and sirius coming back in the first place. if anyone disagrees it shouldn't have to be me.
Maybe the prophecy wont' matter at all in the end. You know maybe there's a screw predestiny, we'r ein control of our own lives.

When I come to think about it, that has been kind of a theme through the whole series.
yeah, dumbledore said it didnt he???
I Think that Dumbledore's brother has something to do with what happens the last book.
I also think that Snape is still actually good but had to kill Dumbledore because of that thing. And it didn't really matter any way because Dumbledore was dying(his hand) and was only still alive because snape's potions.
What if Snape has an affair with Hermione. -- That would be a gret twist!!
yeah, what if they have full on sex in the prefects bathroom!
Queenie-
One can't have "full on" sex in any bathroom never mind the prefect's.One needs rather more luxury and amenity than what a prefect's bathroom is likely to contain for "full on" sex.
Such a place might be suitable for a "quickie" under desperation conditions as would behind the bikeshed or a number of other locations too numerous to list.Do you mean gross, incontinent copulation like one sometimes sees on Mr Attenborough's wonderful programmes.
I had a few theories that seem off the wall but what the hay.
I noticed a few things that seemed like foreshadowing.
The following is probably far fetched;
I don't believe snape is really a death eater.
First we know that Dumbledore is incredibly gifted in being able to see people for who they really are. Why in the world would he put so much faith into Snape that he never let anyone question?
When he looked at Snape and said "Severis please" perhaps he was pleading with him to just go through with it.
I think it was a set up and I think the real reason Snape is so bitter is not just because of Harry's father teasing him but I believe he was in love with Harry's mother.
No, I heard JK deny that in an interview
How could she deny that Snape was in love with Harry's mother?
Spendy, maybe you should actually read harry potter before commenting so much.
The prefects bathroom is actually the size of a large hall, and has a bath the size of a swimming pool with 100 gold taps around the outside, wach filling the bath with different types of bubbles.
I think that would be quite a good location personally.
OK Queenie.
I haven't read it.Had I known that the prefect's bathroom is as you describe it I would not have jumped in showing my ignorance.
But what does a woman know about a young lad? There's no way JK could give a picture of my mind when I was one of those. So you get a feminisation of young lads.No wonder they are a puzzle to you young ladies when all you have is a middle-aged woman's fantasy to go on.It's an agenda.
Anyway-what's "full on"?You can do gross, incontinent copulation in your prefect's bathroom as well as behind the bikeshed.
Did you have a good time over the festive season?
I read Umberto Eco's Island of the Day Before.Wierd!
spendius wrote:How could she deny that Snape was in love with Harry's mother?
We would all like to deny the truth about the sloppy love affairs hidden in hogwarts....Perhaps people would think differently of the young lady if they knew she was slithering into the slitherin common room and tutoring Snape behind Harry's father's back.
I'm commenting on a story I have not read one word of and I suppose that's a bit unfair but how can a woman write about a lad.A woman knows nothing of male emotions except a guess based on actions but in this case a woman is creating the actions out of experiences she has had in a late 20th century rich country's socialisation process.Harry won't be Tom Brown or Tom Jones or Huck Finn or the young Auberon Waugh in Will This Do?
