Battle Rap, in writte form

Are you paying for server service? If you are, take the threads down, and don't allow them anymore. If your not, leave them alone. Are you the owners spoke person now?

They can stay as far as I'm concerned. If the owner of the forum does not want them, then he has to do something about it. The threads have been here for some time, and he has allowed it.

I asked an honest question. Through this and another thread I've started I've been trying to get some sense of the lure/draw to this mode of music. I'm trying to understand how it can be as effective in written form. If you are incapable of answering a simple question without flipping out then kindly refrain.

P.P.S. In response to the question by questioner (hehe), no I don't believe battle rap online captures the essence of the real thing. Live Battle Rap is grounded in attacks in real things-i.e. looks, traits, history. You make fun of someone's hair or their eye twitch or how they used to work at McDonalds, etc. You can't really effectively battle someone you can't see or know anything about. Plus the excitement of battle rap is that it's improvised on the spot and the rapper must be quick on his feet to respond to his opponent's attacks. If you can sit down and think and edit what you're response is going to be, that takes the whole point out of it.

We have our own forums and threads, we keep to ourselves.
Also it's prolific now and alot of people use it as a form to vent anger or any bitter mood they may have supressed at the time. Sorry to say this but it's pure ignorance i hear unless you have tested the waters.

On the contrary there is alot of junk posted. These people just want to feel like they are right and get a sense of authority. We aren't all like that though.

Rap is the skill off portraying a scene or situation using words with the same terminal sounds; wordplay (poor traits = portraits), puns, multible words rhyming within a sentence and not just the last word, plus rhythym that naturally occurs subsequently from the words used (compund syllabols that sound similar but dont necessaraly rhyme).

For example:

PUN:
You couldnt make the fans throw up there hands if they swallowed there fingers

WORDPLAY and PUN: Your in daNile you got so much **** running from the mouth (daNile = denial)(**** running from the mouth = sewerage that passes out of the rivermouth)

MULTI RHYME: Rip you frail cats tails up ya backs, leaving pale snale trails so you dont relax. (bit gangsta)

All of the above is then followed on by other sentences that rhyme and jigsaw together..


Its harder than what it seems, try it.

I mean a subsection of the original writing forum where people can rap to their hearts desires and no one would fight about if it's annoying, credible etc.

Besides, then they could maybe spread out and have more room to rap than one single thread.

I think rap battle is more effective when its live and you're actually thinking on your feet...umm...i honestly get more of a buzz out of it when I do it live....
I've never done just to show my skills...unless someone calls me out.....and keep mocking me till I do......
Thats when I really get pissed.......
even then I try not to make my rhymes look to tryhard cause sometimes even the most ellaborate rhymes have their flaws.....
And some freestylers even make pre-written rhymes, memorize them and go looking for trouble....
I don't really look at it as a who wins who loses..
I like to watch the battles and listen to the lyrics...
analyze them and decide in my head....who the winner really is....
I mean...a guy can simply spit out a 20 bar rhyme and win....just cause it was long....
But if a guy can shorten his rhymes and give them more meaning and mockery or credibility..then i think that guy should really win.....
