that's not how i see it of course. the idea of tensive symbolism is relevant to any and all interpretations of revelations, and it's an underrated, underdiscussed point worth focusing an article on.
Quote:That the whore is a world wide organization is evident from the fact that all the kings and merchants of the world mourn its passing. Whenever the politicians of the world require fodder for their cannons they turn to the priests to provide the sacrifice. Any religious group claiming to be neutral will be anathema to both sides.
says your interpretation. you might be right, but i believe there's plenty of evidence against it. i'm not attempting to prove you wrong however, it would take a very, very long time to do so assuming that you are. (i think.)
actually, "wrong" interpretations are underrated too. they're no good reason to start a crusade, but when it comes to learning about religion, i get as many voices to work with as i can find. i don't like all of them, i certainly don't like the idea that most religions are wrong except (as i see it) your sect of your religion, but it does me little good to ignore this perspective.
my approach to understanding is to find all the tensive symbols possible. you're as good a help in that effort as anyone here.
i also find skeptics quite helpful, although not all of them are as skilled or informed. the skeptic's annotated bible is a fantastic work in my opinion, but the obvious points that is misses are countless and not surprising.
