I have had already a downtown-tour, since the taxi-shuttle had to go to various hotels ..

I arrived here savely and after a nice flight.

I suppose, I will be in bed quite early tonight ...

I was going to suggest that we brethern gathered in Chicago would raise a glass to each of yall who will be here in spirit: ehbeth, dlowan, tico, kicky, raggedy, msolga. And there are others who posted more than a page or two ago. I reckon we had best make it a group toast, though.
My understanding is that there will be one or more computers so that we can have yall virtually with us.
I will be up at 4:30 tomorrow to catch my 6 am flight.
Was there any decision made as to where and when yall taking the achitecture tour might end up for lunch on Friday. If not, catch yall at the Duke or Perth later on.

For the folks meeting at the Duke of Perth on Friday, and not going to the Art Institute Saturday morning... Would you like to meet for lunch on Saturday and do something Saturday afternoon? I'll be at the Art Institute at 10:00 but will leave and meet up with whoever/whatever for the afternoon.

Just a quick note "to whom it may concern": I won't be able to make it Friday night. Crying or Very sad I WILL, however be able to make it Sunday. A friend (who's computer I am now using) will be driving me. I've pm'd Mike (sublime1) about getting her in. Oh, and look for her on the threads. Her nickname is "Fiddle D. Dee", and she's a dear friend of mine. See ya Sunday!

Have a good time all. The Duke of Perth looks a nice venue. Drink the Glenmorangie and stay away from the Haggis...they bite.

Hey Walter, what are you doing in Chicago? You missed the English local council elections, where nearly 1/3 of the seats were contested...fortunately nimh sat up all night and has given full report http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=63108&start=90
I told him he was a nerd. Smile Hope the new camera clicks ok.

Update - dammit : Crying or Very sad - looks like I may not make it, at least Friday; yesterday evening, one of The Ponies went down ... she's pretty old, pretty sick, and this is prolly it for her - Mrs Timber's real upset, and I ain't real happy about it either.

I just finished having breakfast with Walter, Osso, C.I. and Thomas. They are now on their way to an architecture tour. I am back at my desk at work.

It was a personal thrill for me to meet them. I asked them if I could post any messages on their behalf. (All four of them basically said they arrived safely, are feeling fine, like Chicago......blah, blah, blah. I tried to get them to say something specific, such as "it was a great thrill to meet wandeljw", but they declined. Smile

dyslexia: in the hour and a half that I spent with them, your name came up several times. (you were lucky that osso was there to defend you)

eoe,

So far the weather is better than I expected. Michigan Avenue was very sunny, temperature in the fifties, but not much wind.
