Meta tags question

I recently updated my site and i go online to use the meta tag analizers.... some say my tags are bad .. some say they are good... some say some good some bad...sometimes the same one says is bad and after re-submiting it a few times it says is good....

can you trust this tools or are they only trying to sell software to fix the "problem"

any comments on how i can make sure they are right??
