I don't get any audio when trying to play a DVD Rom on my DVD writer. Video CD's work fine. Video files that I've recorded/copied myself work fine. It's just when I try to play a DVD ROM. Any ideas on where to start?

CD/DVD rom sound
i dont know what kind of configuration you have going for yourself, but as a "start" you may want to look inside. almost all roms have a special port for an audio cable that goes direct to the sound card...
Hope this helps =)

note it should be either a 2, 3 or 4 pin socket

I get sound using Nero Showtime. Maybe media player just doesn't have the necessary facilities. No matter. At least I can watch DVD's now. I've got an Xbox, but it's a little temperamental. I've got a DVD I got in Thailand which freezes and jumps on the Xbox, but works fine on the computer.
