We are remodeling our home and have done the entrance way in natural pine with the trim stained with puritan pine. Over top we have urathained the wood for protection. the room is not large and has a set of open stairs. what colour would work best with the wood. there are also two doors and a window that needs colouring.

for a good neutral that works well with some richly colored things in the room, I like "Putty" but we have a really old place in which the furniture is mostly painted. Too much natural wood is a modern thing, paint was used mostly in colonial times .
