Let's assume you are correct and see where that leads us.

If we can't assume that the lengths of the gongs and the lengths of the intervals are constant, then it would be impossible to solve with the information given.

Therefore, we have the two equations I gave in my previous post, but you have supplied the missing value:

7G + 6D = 7
10G + 9D = 70/6

The solution to this system of equations is:
G = -7/3
D = 35/9

So each gong lasts -7/3 seconds and the interval between gongs is 35/9 seconds.

Something seems wrong. I think carditel had the right solution.

Ya, CARDITEl is right, mark you don't need to consider the duration of the Gong, I was in a hurry writing the solution.. Ya there are 9 intervals. and that accounts to 10.5 seconds.
Sorry, check check

Hell was full so I am Back.

Here's a PUZZZZZLE

Once a man went to Forest and was taken by Savagers.
Now they asked him to say a statement.They said that if his statement
is a truth they will throw him in fire and if the statement is
a Lie they will fry him in Oil...
The man was too clever, He said something which made the savagers
confused and they were unable make out whether his statement is Truth or a Lie and finally they had to free the man.

What was his statement??

There are two ways of meeting difficulties, You alter the difficulties
OR you alter yourself to meet them.

He said "I am a Liar" or "This statement is false"

Such statements have no Truth Value in world of Logic often called as Liar paradox .

Sorry Vinsan but perhaps you didn't understand the question.
I did'nt say that the person always lies or always speaks truth.

Well what about "This statement is false"?

Here there are no assumptions about the person to be a liar or honest....

what say?
