kris, great great grea haircut. it really works well on you. and matches your personality. very hip. i like i like.
i'm gonna need an advice soon, too. i let my hair grow for two years so that it's now down to my shoulderblades. it is textured and looks good from front and back, but not from the side. the profile i hate. it's too long and flat on top and poofy on the bottom and long hair just doesn't suit me, from the side that is.
chop it off? shoulder length? under ears? short? i am up for just about anything. well, maybe not. should i be? kris? beth?
My opinion is that it looks very nice. It appears to be quite an "easy-care" style that won't be a pain if you're in a hurry in the morning. Longer hair might be more attractive, but can be somewhat of an upkeep nightmare if you don't have a lot of time to mess with hair.
Myself, I keep mine fairly close-cropped these days. I'm not one to fuss with it.
Yours looks very shiny!
Reyn, my hair is, indeed, shiny. I use a gentle shampoo so as not to dry it out.
Dag, I've never seen you with a bad hair cut. I shall look around for some old pictures of you to find which styles I thought looked best.....
Spendius, it's interesting that you like the fancy and unatural shoes so much considering you seem to feel that hair should be left so natural.
By the way, your eyes match your top!
Dasha, I like the style in a picture in the dagz album on your website. It's on the first page, center row, 3rd down (Montreal). Also, if those last few pix in that album are current, I think your hair looks great longer too
Reyn, my eyes are a little morphic. I can get them to look olive green, bright blue, and grey blue depending on clothing and/or make up.
few of my recent (as in, past 3 years) hairstyles:
current, untouched by a hair dryer:
I like that last one! I didn't realize your hair was so wavy. Do you have a picture of you when your hair was short-ish and blond? You had a style that looked like a 40s movie star, or like marylin monroe.... remember?
this thing?
that was my 'letting the short hair grow out' hairstyle. cut it myself. harrumph. i can do that anytime, i suppose.
this one? dunno what MM would say...
The Montreal one was the first one I mentioned. That last style you posted is probably the later one I mentioned. Don't worry, MM won't say anything about it.
Dag
Simple solution!
Cut it short on one side and leave it long on t'other. That way you can decide which profile to present, depending on your feelings on the day!
The other option is bald, or near to. That way we can really see what you look like
i had it short on one side, long on the other once. not feeling it this time. maybe i'm long since out of high school... ugh, sigh. i think i'll just surrender to the nearest hairdresser and let his (am aiming for a gay guy) imagination run wild.
Is there a slightly funky side to vienna?
hmm. there must be. my roommate is plenty funky. but hairdressers are way cheaper in bratislava.
Same Q about Bratislava, then.
Ha! I was thinking about you today, dag, when I was in picking out hair care product. I learned about John Frieda from you.
You had marvellously glossy blonde hair when I first met you - and I was most envious. It was hmmmmm just over three years ago - so it would have been just before you started growing it out?
I like that wavy blonde groove you've got going on in a couple of those photos. The chin to ear length seems to really suit you - maybe go a bit stronger on colour play?
ok, more pictures of me... hehehe, sorry, but this is funny.
The picture I didn't post is less than flattering, but it looks a lot like Barbra Streisand.
all ya need is big long fake nails and you're set for a second career!
or maybe Halloween
hehehehehehehe - picturing you as Babs and Slappy as Richard Simmons. You two ARE the 80's.
