Absolutely!
Here's to "the garden state"! The "state of excitement!"
<clink!>
But why not indulge in a second?
Another Victorian is something to celebrate!

(in case you folk in far flung places are wondering about the identity of the two fellows on the right of the picture: one is (obviously)you-know-who & the other is Philip Ruddock, Attorney General*.)
*Edit: Whoops! I called Phillip Ruddock the Minister for Immigration in my earlier post. God knows where my head was. Put it down to holiday vagues.

Cheers me old matey
Droppa chunda wunda 'd go down nicely
Or as we say in sophisticated literary cockney "a nice drop of Gertrude"
(Gertrude = Gertrude Stein = Wine. I invented this masterpiece of cockney rhyming slang, unfortunately its only me who says it as yet )

The best sauvignon blanc I ever tasted came from the Yarra Valley.
"Gertrude" works for me Steve - I can't remember my father having a rhyming slang name for wine, he always called it "plonk" (which could of itself have rhyme origins but I'm not sure).
Anyway as you were.

Actually I prefer Sauvingnon to Chardonnay oaked or non oaked.
I'll look out for Yarra Valley next time. Without trying to boost Aussie wine exports....because it will only be 1 maybe 2 bottles...got any recommendations?

I wish I could remember the winery that produced it. The label was blue and gold with a wavy sort of pattern, no doubt an image reflecting the Yarra River . I'll keep an eye out for it and see if I recognise it again. It really was superb. Some of our sauvignon blancs tend to be just a bit too gooseberry flavoured for me but this one was brilliant.
I couldn't find it here but that doesn't mean it isn't still in production.
btw it's stunning country there, truly beautiful.

Delatite lables are worth looking out for too. Deadmans Hill (i kid you not) is a gwertztraminer(sp?) I think.
I'm not a "real" wine poser I just drink it.

dadpad I think the proper term (useful for alliteration) is "wine wanker".
I agree, I like that old quote from Len Evans, "it's just a bloody drink....drink it!"
But I like to drink the best I can afford

yeah
looks fabulous
Had to laugh at one name though
the Decamped Brothers..
presumably from France to Aus to grow wine
(actually it was Deschamps..but you know).
Believe it or not I have a grape vine growing on the south facing wall of my house. I've tried making wine several times, so far with excellent results as a drain cleaner. Dont think I'll get into serious competition with Yarra Valley.

Essex is famous for wine.
As Lord E will confirm, if he's around, the Essex Girl's favorite Wine is
"I wanna go to Lakeside"
(Lakeside is a large shopping complex by the M25 motorway)

Absolutely correct, Steve. This is usually followed at a later stage, by another wine that they want to make love with the light on.
