Hi. Happy Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday 2025! Are you doing anything special for the holiday?

I'm not really. I know President Trump's inauguration was today but I wasn't really interested in watching that. What about you?

Please help. Thank you.

Did anyone watch any parades today, or watch any Dr. King-themed specials on TV?

@JGoldman10,
Our Bill of Rights was 1689, under Queen Anne.

As far as race relations go it only really kicked off post WW2 with the influx of West Indian immigrants.

They did suffer prejudice and discrimination it was called " colour bar," and there was the Race Relations Act in 1965 to stop discrimination.

@izzythepush,
And in 1689 England/Wales was still a sovereign nation, in 1707 the Act of Union joined us with Scotland and the sovereign nation is now the UK.

The Magna Carta, also known as the Great Charter, was a historic document that established several important principles12345:
It was the first written constitution in European history.
It limited government power and protected human rights.
It defined the limits of royal power and obliged the monarch to consult the barons before levying taxes.
It guaranteed protection from royal officers for all freemen.
It ensured the right to a fair legal process for those facing criminal charges.

@Lady Lingiton,
Not a bill of rights, and largely ignored at the time.

Well I'm writing letters to my Senators today because my home Agency (NSA) placed paper shields over the pictures of women and minorities to comply with Donnie's latest reacist tantrum. One of the pictures was of Elizabeth Friedman was honored as a huge contributor to ending WWI and WWII. She's been long gone but her efforts saved us with our faithful allies she and the others saved us. Shame on Donald face and his pissy minions.
