India and other U.S. allies have been buying Russian oil at a discount price during the Ukraine war.
Could the U.S. and/or our allies have matched the price and denied Russia a customer? Would that have shortened the war?

No, Russia would have just lowered the price further. Oil prices are controlled by supply and demand. When we cut the demand for Russian oil but the supply stayed the same, the price was going to drop.
