@hightor,
The odds to win the lottery are in the millions but usually somebody wins. Prophecies work on the same principal many people can make a prophecy the ones that were wrong are quickly forgotten. Gambler prophecy that their bet will come true and sometimes they do.

A psychic name Jean Dixon predicted in 1956 in Parade Magazine "that in the 1960 presidential election it would be dominated by labor and won by a democrat who would go on to be assassinated or die in office." But at last minute she decided Nixon looked like the winner. She also predicted the events of 9/11. It seems like the power to predict the future are not unique to biblical figures. That means the power to predict the future does not come from God.

The divine right of Kings specified that only God could appoint a king. The vast majority of the western world subscribed to this theory for hundreds of years. Now the Christan right is now reviving this theory by believing that Trump was appointed by God to be president. The Christan right believes that American president being elected by mere men is in violation of their religious belief. That it is a giant middle finger in the face of their God. Now that they believe Trump was appointed by God to be president it is a short step from God appointing Trump King of America and making his family the American royal family.

Trump did not want to leave office after his first term and staged an insurrection. People were quite willing to fight and die to keep Trump in office. Trump has already told the Christian right that they need not ever worry about another election. That could be interrupted as Trump will call off any future presidential election. The Christian right preachers could declare that God has told them that Trump is King of America and cancel future elections.

The Christian right has been infiltrating every level of our government for 80 years. You have to remember these people are true believers, they are zealots. They believe that God is real and whatever the preachers tell them is God's will they will believe it. The last insurrection failed because it was unorganized the next will be better organized because it is led by true believers.

The saying about computers is garbage in, garbage out. That applies to people also. Those people who would replace our constitution with "God's law" having been mainlining garbage all their lives. Imagine what a computer that had been fed garbage the entire time it had been in service. Its output would be useless. Now those people that have been mainlining garbage are planning to use the government to gain dominion over you. First rule will be church on Sunday is mandatory and you will contribute 10% of your income. Think it can't happen here? Other countries have been plunged into darkness of ignorance by a small minority of zealots.

In America we are all free to believe what we want at least in theory. In practice religious cults want to mandate you to believe what they believe. Right now, they want it to be mandatory for your children to pray to their God everyday they attend school. Think it can't happen. It was standard operating procedure when I went to school. It took a major effort to get mandatory prayer out of our schools. You didn't pray to different God each day, you prayed to one God of their choosing. When the court cases started, they decided that they would no longer make every student pray to their God you could sit silently by and listen to the others pray. It was a way to socially isolate students who refused to pray to their God. The mandatory prayer to their God was shot down by the supreme court and the Christian Right is still trying to use the government to make school children pray to their God.

That brings up the question why do the Christian religious cults believe that they should be able to use the power of government to force others into their religious cults. Why can't they just believe what they want and let others believe what they chose? They are insecure in their own beliefs and if they can get others to believe the nonsense it affirms their beliefs.
