One of the founding principles of Christianity is the belief that God is perfect being, but God must be sadist to watch 6 million people burnt at the stake with green wood. God could have intervened at any time, but he didn't. You can't resolve those two positions, either he is perfect or he is sadist.

Christianity borrowed the human sacrifice from earlier religions. The concept of an angry god that needed to be appeased was pretty much accepted. They say man was created in the image of God, but it was God that was created in the image of man. Who is angry? Man is often angry. It is called projection. God was created by projections of man.

A woman I know asked me if I believed in love at first sight. I told her I did not. The best explanation I know is that each of us carries an idealized image of mate within us. When we meet someone that we are attracted to, we begin to project our image of our ideal mate on that person. The problem is that we are falling in love with our projection. When reality hits it hits hard, and we realize that projection conflicts with reality and the other person may be far from idealized mate This causes many divorces.

This is what happens in religion people project their image of an ideal God onto to whatever God that is available but since all gods are imaginary, they can never be resolved with reality.

@Zardoz,
Jehovah is the true living God-he alone. He is about to show this world-he offers life everlasting in perfection to his followers. We all must choose.

@kjw47,
Throughout history there have been literally 1,000s of Gods who have come and gone but of all those Gods there is not one shred of solid evidence that could be pointed out that would serv as undisputable evidence of their existence. What is in its place is people who want to believe anything so they can avoid accepting the reality of their death. When life is limited, it is precious when life lasts for eternity it has no value.

One of the key instructions from the bible is: "you must believe as a little child believes." Why must you "believe as a little child believes." Because it is a religious cult and they know if use your intellect it won't make any sense. Any organization that instructs to us believe as little child believes has to be suspects. What if you went onto a used car lot and the salesman instructed you to believe as a little child believes. Then he showed a complete wreck and told you what a bargain it was. People have bought that wreck for thousands of years and it is because they believe as a little child believes.

When you turn to God and his WORD, you should empty yourself of all pre-conceived ideas and go to him as a child, allowing the spirit within you, to guide you into the hidden depths of his word. Isolate yourself if you can from all other influences until the spirit has taken you as far as you wish to go, while knowing that you have not endured in his word until the end, and will more than likely go off into the world half-cocked, lacking the fullness of truth that is to be found in his WORD>

@cmturner,
Again, you see the misconception that men are basically bad that all good flows from an invisible being. That is the con used to sell religious cults since the beginning of time. The vast majority of people have the capacity for empathy hard wired into the brain without it any human society would not be possible. This can clearly be seen with an fMRI. We are able to put ourselves in the other person shoes and treat them accordingly. However, there are psychopaths who were born without parts of brain that generate empathy, serial killers and people like Trump come to mind. I do have an invisible bridge I'd like to sell, interested?

No one doubts that men can learn from the first time they used stone tools but that is a two-edge sword people are also easily miss led by invisible beings who break ever know law of the universe. Like the Wizard of Oz, small men manipulate the illusion.

@Zardoz,
"Good" people outnumber "bad" people. No question. Chaos ensues because most of the good ones refuse to get involved, making way for the bad ones to wreak havoc. Freedom and democracy are fleeting. I blame the good people for that. They hope to escape the bad consequences by claiming no involvement. They end up as cannon fodder or starving peasants.

@The Anointed,
It is like the Wizard of Oz don't use your intellect to look behind the curtain because you are not going to like what you see. What you need to do is empty yourself of any and all knowledge that will allow the religious cults to write on a clean slate. Religious cults are selling the illusion of everlasting life to those that are frightened to death of dying. We can even see in the animal community that you can frighten buffalos until they will literally be frightened till they will jump over a cliff to their death. Religious cults are experts of manipulating with fear. When that didn't work, they would kill them and hang their bodies in trees with signs around their neck "that they would not convert." If government had not controlled the religious cults the religious killing would number in the millions. It would be history repeating itself. Tell those who were burnt at the stake about the word of God. Organized psychopaths can override empathy, the good that dwells in man.

What is the reward that the mind receives?
Surely it is what that mind believes
And the mind that rejects eternity
When freed from its body, where will it be?

Believe as you will but remember this verse
When your coffin is placed in the back of the hearse
The reward that the mind must surely receive
Is that which the mind (Not in the hearse) believes.

And perhaps this is what you see behind the veil-"Never again will you take part in anything that happens in the world, because there will be no action, no thought, no knowledge, no wisdom in the world of the dead to where the righteous, the wicked, the wise and the fools, animal and man, are all going. For the living know that they are going to die, but the dead know nothing.

What do you think happens to the invisible mind that has developed within the body of an eighty-year-old person when their body dies?

Continuing from previous post

This body that you see It isn’t really me
It’s but the womb in which I’m being formed
For I am spirit, I am mind
And it’s the only place you’ll find
‘Who I Am’ until the day I’m finally born
For I will not be free, until this body that you see
Has returned to the dust from whence it came
It’s then that I’ll be born from this womb in which I’m formed
To carry on in life’s eternal game.

@The Anointed,
Poetry is nice but it does not usually reflect reality. Have you ever truly thought about what living forever would be like? It might be nice for a few years, but it would be an unending torture that you could never escape. We know that everything that ever existed on earth dies only the imagination offers an alternative. Your imagination can take you anywhere and let you break all the laws of the universe, but it will never become reality. In the movie "Zardoz" a class of people had achieved immortality, they lived forever, but many longed for the escape of death and the movie ends with their slaughter.

@The Anointed,
The body is a biological machine, but a machine none the less, when death occurs the mind of an 80-year-old and all others dies. The mind is not a supernatural being separate from the body it is made up billions of cells. When it fails to nourish with blood and oxygen it dies, we know this from autopsies the brain is still there and can be taken out to look for the cause of death. Only the imagination takes flight.

It is only the ego of man that makes him believe that he among all creatures is entitled to immortality. When my death comes, and I am on the short list, I will welcome it, I know that I have lived life to fullest and seen beyond the illusions. The only way for life to exist is with death.

@The Anointed,
The idea that man was not just what you see but also an invisible creature has its origin in believing that the mind is independent of the body, and we know that is not true. But we all have an inner dialogue that seems to be independent of the body. We can lose an arm or leg, but mind continues. The next step in the evolution of that type of thinking was the invention of the soul. This soul was of course invisible, you could see somebody's brains scattered all over the place in an accident, but soul can never be injured or seen. No instrument of man has ever been able to find a single soul nor will they ever.

Never has a truer word been said: "You really don't know life at all."

And what are the two sides that you have looked at life from? The atheist side and the religious side? How about the philosophical side or the scientific side, or perhaps the Quantum physicists view?

You do know what a singularity is, or do you? A singularity is a region of space-time in which photons, the quantum of matter are crushed so closely together that the gravitational laws explained by general relativity break down. In a singularity, the volume of space is zero and its density is infinite. Scientists believe such a singularity exists at the core of a black hole, which occurs when a super-massive sun reaches the end of its life and implodes.

General relativity also demands such a singularity must exist at the beginning of an expanding universe. And it stands to reason that the singularity of the origin of an expanding universe within the Black Hole. is the end result of the previous universe in the Big Crunch, when that universal body of seemingly matter, is torn to pieces as it is swallowed by the Great gravitational anomaly, molecule by molecule, atom by atom, subatomic particle by subatomic particle and reconverted to the photons and crushed into the singularity as it awaits the next period of universal activity. But not only is the supposed material body of the previous universe swallowed, so too is the information gathered in that period of activity. The memory of the previous universe.

It has now been revealed that matter is no more than an illusion. Quantum physicists discovered that so called physical atoms are made up of vortices of energy that are constantly spinning and vibrating, each one radiating its own unique energy signature.

If you observe the composition of an atom with a microscope you would see a small, invisible tornado-like vortex, with a number of infinitely small energy vortices called quarks and photons. These are what make up the structure of the atom. As you focused in closer and closer on the structure of the atom, you would see nothing, you would observe a physical void. The atom has no physical structure, we have no physical structure, physical things really don’t have any physical structure! Atoms are made out of invisible energy, not tangible matter.

Energy can be and is converted to that which we perceive as matter. In fact, this apparent material universe at the time of the Big Bang, was, according to the most popular theory of the creation of this universe, pure electromagnetic energy, which, In my Opinion, was spewed out of a WHITE HOLE, in the trillions upon trillions of degrees, or, according to scientific measurements (180 million trillion, trillion degrees Fahrenheit), which electromagnetic energy has been converted to that which we perceive as matter, only to be reconverted to its original form as electromagnetic energy during the phase of the Big Crunch, when all will be ripped apart atom by atom, subatomic particle by subatomic particle, and fall as fire into the Great Abyss, or Black Hole that is connected to a White Hole at the end of an Einstein Rosen bridge that connects the two.

Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like ‘A GREAT THOUGHT’ than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. (R. C. Henry, “The Mental Universe”; Nature 436:29, 2005)

The universal memory of the previous universal bodies, (The Great THOUGHT) first resurrects the previous body before it continues on in the process of Evolution. In the days of Paul, it was believed by faith alone, that all visible matter in the universe was built by the gathering together of smaller and invisible particles. Today we know this to be a fact, Matter is but the gathering together of invisible molecules, created by the gathering together of invisible atoms, which themselves are created from the gathering of invisible sub-atomic particles that are formed from Photons or wave particles, which are not particles at all, although generally regarded as discrete stable elementary particles, having zero mass, no electric charge, yet carrying angular and linear momentum.

This would appear to compliment Paul’s statement in Romans 1: 18-23; that the eternal, who has neither beginning or end, had made himself manifest as this visible cosmos, and all that can be known about the eternal has been made plain to us in the creation itself, which is the eternal invisible MIND, ‘The GREAT THOUGHT’ made visible as it has evolved today.

Romans 1: 18-23; God's anger is revealed from heaven against all the sin and evil of the people whose evil ways prevent the truth from being known. God punishes them, because what can be known about God is plain to them, for God himself made it plain. Ever since God created the world, his invisible qualities, both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no excuse at all! They know God, but they do not give him the honour that belongs to him, nor do they thank him. Instead, their thoughts have become complete nonsense, and their empty minds are filled with darkness. They say they are wise, but they are fools; 23instead of worshipping the immortal God, they worship images made to look like mortal human beings, etc, etc.

And that which we call God, through whom all things were created, by whom all things were created and for whom all things were created, the God, who is one, the great singularity in who all things exist, is the same today as it was yesterday and will be into all eternity. It is the eternal constant, in that it has been constantly evolving, and will continue to evolve from everlasting to everlasting. The only mind that can cease to evolve, is the mind that has ceased to exist.

You have to choose between a logical view of life and a supernatural view buoyed by superstitions that breaks every know law of the universe. Could the supernatural exist in a universe that is made up of lies. The choice for anyone is one based in ignorance and 2,000-year-old superstitions and one base in logic and hard evidence. That is both sides.

Religion would be considered a philosophy but that does not make correct. I don't know of any discoveries in Quantum physics where they located a grandfatherly old man who it appears to be everywhere at the same time.

We don't live in singularity, so the laws of the universe still apply to us and any supernatural beings.

We don't live at the beginning of the universe, and you seem to be undermining your own religious arguments by postulating a universe that constantly recreates itself. God created the universe only once not multiple times according to religious text.

Quantum physics may postulate that matter illusion but the next time you get hit by a car it will provide hard evidence that matter is real.

Theory is the key word in your argument. Is like Trump's lawyer arguing that the election was stolen. The judge asked him for proof, Guiliani responded it could have happened that way.

You are absolutely desperate to believe an impossibility you look under every rock and pick up pieces to try and uphold an argument you know in heart is wrong. I think you protest too much.

The only sermon I remember in the 18 years I went to church was from the funeral of my cousin killed in a car wreck. The core idea of the sermon was that you started dying the day you were born. He had to have a medical background. He pointed out that you were made up of billions of cells and some cells died every day. Most of your cells died in your lifetime. If you look at the human body as being not one integrated body but made up of individual living cells that live and die which of you gets eternal life? At death we disintegrate over time. The bible contain knowledge that was available at the time. They believed what saw; they saw a human being as complete whole not being composed of living cells. Should the living cells become slaves for eternity?
