@kjw47,
People were never taught to accept death instead religion was used to create illusions to conceal death. It was the ultimate con. Nobody ever returned from the dead so no one could ever verify life after death, but no one could verify that there was no life after death either. It came down to what you wanted to believe. That would apply a bias toward something instead of nothing. Most people spend a lifetime avoiding reality. Fantasy has its own rewards.

A few were resurrected from death in the bible a long time ago.

Yes, it's a common trope in other ancient mythologies as well. Resurrection is a feature in the stories of Quetzalcóatl, Odin, Bodhidarma, Satyavan, Osiris, and Tammuz. As Zardoz pointed out, religious stories were used to conceal the harsh realities of death.

@kjw47,
The bible was not written down for 300 years. It was passed down by word of mouth. We all know how accurate the game is where you say something to guy next to you and continue around the table. The message is completely changed by the end. This message distortion applies to the bible by factor of a million. You cannot trust anything in the bible. Before the science of being able to detect presents of life improved people were buried alive. Deep commas and other conditions were mistaken for death. The bible is supposed to be divine knowledge, but the bible once said that the earth was at the center of the universe. When telescopes were developed that showed that was a lie. The churches wanted the man killed but in later years God was corrected.

I was at race down in Kentucky and after the race a man collapsed his heart stopped beating. Two nurses kept working on him for 15 minutes without signs of life. The ambulance arrived and worked an additional 15 minutes. I figured he was dead but finally he raised up. You might say he was resurrected.

@hightor,
When I was child on Sunday morning TV was full of faith healers who could cure anything by laying on of hands. If you were blind the preacher (conman) could make you see. If you were lame, he could make you walk. There was a study stream of people cured in an hour. It was like big time wrestling for Christians. After all you were seeing with your own eyes. How they got them off of TV I don't know. We still have people who insist big time wrestling is real.

@kjw47,
Faith healing scams were so common at one time that people accepted that what they were witnesses was real. It is never hard to push people in the direction they already want to go. If you want eternal life, it is not hard to find someone selling eternal life but don't use your logic you must believe as a little child believes. If that doesn't make you the perfect victim nothing will. The type of scams may change but religion will always be a gateway.

@kjw47,
"Jesus", a Jewish man who died 2000 years ago, doesn't head any single religion. Professed belief in a story about a 1st century religious reformer named "Jesus" (Yeshua) is shared by 45,000 different Christian denominations worldwide. But all these churches are actually headed by people who claim that their body of religious believers is the only legitimate Christian faith. Again, there is no single religion headed by Jesus. There never was. His prophecies never came to pass in the way he described. However, there is a real Christian"miracle" – it is a miracle that so many people still believe in the literal story.

There was never any real proof that Jesus ever existed except in the imagination of those who were brainwashed almost from birth.

@hightor,
One of the things that made me realize that religion could not possibly be real was that each and every church would claim that they were the one and only true religion and all the other church were going to hell. We had a church on almost every other corner. So, what the preacher was telling you was 99.99% of the people going to church were going to hell.

I was an atheist at birth, or nearly so. I tried to believe, tried being Christian, Buddhist - Nothing worked. People tell me, at least be spiritual. Nope. Part of the bamboozle. I stand before the world innocent of dogma.

God corrected his bible=The New world translation here in these last days. Jesus leads the Jehovah witness religion-no others.

Not true; they didn't know Yeshua bin Yosef, they knew the character that was referred to as "Jesus", based on the oral retelling of stories from decades past and the edited transcripts of those folk tales. We really don't know that much about the actual ministry of this character but if the stories are even half true they paint a picture of a charismatic teacher, not a divine being. The magical aspects of the story actually detract from its authenticity and help reduce the narrative to the status of a fairy tale,.

@cmturner,
I was not an atheist until high school, my mom was fond of saying it was the teacher's fault, but they had nothing to do with it. If a teacher had expressed any atheist values at the time they would have been run out of town on a rail. I need only watch as each church claimed the other to be a fraud and out of all the churches in America, they had found the one true church. How fortunate they lived where the only true church could be found.

God never corrected a single thing his knowledge was divine and could never be corrected. Man however, corrected God at several meetings when it was evident the God was wrong.

@kjw47,
Does that make common sense? The name was common and could have referred to anyone. I have woken up to find my name in the obituary and introduced myself on a jobsite only to find the other guy had the same name. found. Second century? That means that reference comes from over a hundred years ago at that point.

@hightor,
There are several names used to refer to God. The bible has a number of different authors and often contradicts itself. no doubts because of the different authors. You can use the bible to justify anything including human sacrifice.
