I've been out of the country for six months. What are gas prices like in the midwest these days?

Not quite the midwest, but northern New Mexico is running around $3.19/gal. This is close to a dollar more than 10 days ago, so I don't think anyone can give you a norm right now.

$126 - $1.39 a litre up here in the Golden Triangle area of Ontario. It went up 30ΓΈ per litre overnight Friday.

I paid yesterday $ 3.49/gallon, today it's probably $ 3.60 already.

Here in Iowa: I haven't been out yet today, but yesterday ethanol-blend was going for $2.99.9 and regular for $3.09.9. It changes by the hour, it seems.

Bizarre scene in cow-land Florida. Last night stations with $3.29 a gallon deserted. Stations with $2.79 gas backed up with hundreds of cars and big duelies.

Thanks all and barefoot tia that looks like a great gas price guide. Well I'm shocked. I seem to recall it wasn't even at two dollars when I was in St. louis last.

So is it gasoline price that ultimately manipulates the US economy? Doubling the the price per gallon in six months sounds like the road to hell. I'll have to pay closer attention to the prices here but I know that premium is at least a dollar a gallon more than regular and, hard to believe, Mazda's most basic model utility pickups, the B2200 & B2600 require premium. What a crazy world (both first and third).
