Occasionally, a movie comes out that I might like to watch. However, now, many services exist (Netflix, Hulu, etc.), and I am only a member of Netflix.
How can I view new movies without joining all the services?
After 20 Years Vudu Is Now Called ‘Fandango at Home’. What You Need to Know.
By (Luke Bouma) on March 12, 2024
Quote:After 20 years the streaming service Vudu is now officially no more. As of today, Fandango has changed the name of Vudu to Fandango at Home. Today, the Vudu app received an update on many platforms, including Roku, renaming the services to Fandango at Home.
Update: Vudu and FandangoNow had already merged into a single service back in 2021. The only change today is Vudu changing its name to Fandango at Home. We apologies for the error and confusion.
The movie-ticketing company said the decision is meant to better align its products and “reinforce” Fandango as a one-stop-shop for home and theater entertainment.
Fandango’s news underscores a growing number of companies consolidating their offerings amid a cluttered market and subscription-fatigued customer base.
Vudu also said users won’t lose any content from their libraries, which isn’t always a guarantee when services merge. For example, when anime streamers Funimation and Crunchyroll combined, digital purchases made by Funimation users didn’t make the transition.
