@BillW,
On Facebook twenty minutes ago a stranger disagreed with me when I said Topol was the best pick to star in Fiddler. I agreed that he had a right to that opinion. Next thing I know he is telling me he doesn't need me to tell him that and becomes argumentive. I don't think I belong in social media.
@edgarblythe,
I know what you mean! The only Social Media I really do is here. And, here I do very little opinion related political posts.
@BillW,
I've collapsed the political threads and the religious discussions. I prefer to get my books written than to fight everybody.
I couldn't determine if my book rates as "dystopian" or "speculative." After asking the question on Quora I've determined it to be "speculative."
Grammarly is too damned intrusive. It wants to tell me how to rewrite my second sentence. I am open to occasional such suggestions where I'm a bit confused. Not for trivialities.
I finished the formatting today (even removed an extra space between two words). Also the synopsis, all but for The Census Taker, the shortest one of all. It is a few pages long but it incorporates mention of many themes. I'm finding it hard to write about it without giving it all away.
Online is a dangerous place to be. I just now searched "speculative fiction agents." A site that provided what they called Seventeen Top Agents for Speculative fiction," or some similar crap seemed legitimate to me. One agent that might have been promising had a link to her guidelines. When I clicked on it I was blocked from entering and warned it was a dangerous url.
Instead of starting something new I've dusted off Mexican Red. Doing another edit.
petered out. Does anybody still use that phrase? It just occurred to me that nobody I follow is using it.
@edgarblythe,
Peter is gone (Gunn, the 60’s detective).
@Ragman,
I loved Peter Gunn. Tried to watch episodes last year and didn't any longer "get it."
I must lead an adventurous life when I'm sleeping. Last night I dreamed I and some shadowy person were running from a man with a gun. I made a great leap and woke up as I hit the floor. This kingsize bed is higher than the old queen-size. Fortunately I was able to get in and go back to sleep.
Me: The refrigerator is not cooling as it should.
Wife: You kept the door open two days ago.
When I was 16 I sat in front of a mirror for this selfie.
@edgarblythe,
Well, dooty. I don't know how to resize it.
My book got a full request. Waiting for further results. I expect it to be hard to place, for it does not mince words re politics and climate change. I did compromise by not specifically mentioning Israel and Russia, figuring my sentiments could be inferred by the perceptive reader. It's a collection of six stories, with bad weather, war, and general dystopic situations.
@edgarblythe,
Big time positive - yeah!
In the past I posted extensively about alternative health methods. I quit doing it because I am not an authority and I don't want people to rely on my advice. Some of the advice came from two sources I still use today. But the pioneers of these sources died last year. I knew when Greg Caton died, but I only learned of Jim Humble's passing less than an hour ago. I meet too much opposition to do more than speak of these men with affection and gratitude and move along. So, thank you both and RIP.
