@JGoldman10,
You ask this every holiday.

You never do anything to celebrate any holiday either.

I thought Thanksgiving was last weekend.

Aren't you supposed to watch American Football or something?

Surely you could catch a couple of minutes of that.

@JGoldman10,
I watched part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year online. I wasn't interested in watching it in its entirety - I was busy doing housework and I was bored. There was nothing interesting about the parade this year that caught my attention.

@JGoldman10,
You seem to have a lot of parades.

Thanksgiving, New Year and 4th July are three I can think of.

We have the Lord Mayor's Show in London, but that's about it.

However, in my part of the country there is carnival which goes back to the Medieval tradition of carnival and lent.

Basically towns in the West Country will have acarnival, loads of floats turn up, do a parade and then go to the next town and do it again.

It goes on through Octover and November, but it's strictly local. I don't think it gets televised.

@JGoldman10,
New Years Day.

Sorry after I posted it I realised NY could also mean New York.

Sorry for the confusion. Hope you're keeping well.

@izzythepush,
That really sounds fascinating you know!

The way you celebrate carnival in your area, which comes from old Middle Ages customs, makes the fun unique and has a lot of history to it.

I’d really like to learn more about the fun of the events and how it connects with your culture.

@Stacyh,
Different places have differentactivities.

Carnival is only really celebrated in the west country.

Cheshire still celebrates the Saturnalia, and other places have other things going on.

Early May is usually a good time to visit if you want to see trsditional stuff like Maypole dancing and the like, but you need to get out of the capital.
