Looking for shelter or safe encampment

Hi, my name is Mike. I'm a single man with no kids. I'm looking for a shelter that can accommodate my medical issues, but if not then a safe encampment. I have a physical medical complication that necessitates that I have access to food 24 hours a day. It is undiagnosed and I do not have insurance at the moment to see a specialist for diagnosis of it, but I am working on filling out the insurance paperwork. I need to be able to eat at night and be able to bring outside food into a shelter. I am also looking for a shelter that takes people out of state because so many I have called up or look into refuse to do so. Also, looking for a shelter that doesn't care about people having outstanding felony warrants, doesn't require a long or mid nasal COVID test and lets people stay a long time or indefinitely, if needed.

I am in the Midwest (USA) but can relocate to another part of the country, but would prefer somewhere in the Upper Midwest if anyone knows of anything. Any response is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Ya kinda buried the lede there, eh?

Here's an idea.

Turn yourself in. You'll get three squares and a bed while you await trial.

Helping you evade outstanding warrants and potentially crossing state lines could be considered aiding and abetting.

We're not going to do that here.

@jespah,
So, I will say I wasn't hiding anything. The reason I'm not going to surrender myself is because it's a waste of taxpayer money given that I'm innocent of what I was charged with in connection with the warrant, as well as the fact that with my medical condition I would most likely die in jail in that jurisdiction. I am not looking for anyone to get themselves in trouble on my behalf and would never wittingly make a request like that. I apologize for the misunderstanding and for not further clarifying myself in my original post.

Also, I was already arrested once on the warrant and they refused to extradite and law enforcement notified me of the range that my warrant would be limited to a relatively small geographical area, in regards to being extradited. This was years ago. I am truly sorry if anyone is offended by my post but I just wanted to tell my side of things before people assume things about me that aren't true or try to dehumanize or demonize me over something they don't understand.

I am asking the admin if I can just edit this post to reflect that I would not go back into stated extradition range (as long as the warrant is active, and therefore it would make this post so it's not unwittingly soliciting violation of federal law) or if they want this taken down completely and I will attempt to take this down. Thank you in advance for any helpful or constructive responses.

@jespah,
I realized I couldn't edit my post and tried to delete my topic twice and got this message each time: "Error
You have just caused an error that took the life of one of the hardest working hamsters. But the good news is that we wrote down the error and will give it to our overlords so that they can figure out how to make it not happen again. Go in peace friend, we must now pour out some liquor for our fallen comrade. We miss you homeslice!". Again I'm sorry for posting something that was inadvertently soliciting violation of Federal Law. My apologies.

@Mike16451,
Don't sweat it. No ones going to track you down.

I hope you stay and keep us informed as you make your way.

I'm in good circumstance myself, but I realize I could end old, alone and on the streets in the right situation. You've asked questions most of us need to ponder in a "what happens if" conversation internally.

I know I have thought it out. Especially at 73, I don't have too many family member to camp out on a couch at. My big ace in the hole is that I am a veteran.

Any chance you are a vet? Because that is a good place to start.

If I were you, I'd get that warrant squared away. There are legal services for the homeless that could help you out. It just might take contacting the warrant holder. It may be they've already quashed the warrant if it's been long enough and if the charges were as minor as you suggest.

@bobsal u1553115,
I wasn't worried that anyone would track me. I just didn't want the topic up if the admin(s) had an issue with it. Trying to stay in good standing type of thing. I'm not a vet unfortunately. I know there are a lot more resources for vets than the average bear out there.

So, I do plan to get the charges associated with the warrant dismissed with prejudice in court. It's just a money and a time thing to be able to look up the legal matter pertaining to that. There are no legal services that would help me for free or low cost in the jurisdiction of my warrant. I've already looked into that, but thank you. Also, I'm not saying the charges are minor, but I feel that they were issued illegally/unconstitutionally by a judge who failed to do their job properly and I know for a fact they haven't quashed the warrant.

Thank you for the response.
