i have a 77 merc and when i went to start it this morning nothing happened. no sound whatsoever. I got it jump started but it died and it wont restart without being jumpstarted. please help thank you
Maybe battery (or battery cables loose).maybe the altinator isn't charging the battery.Is the red light on in the dash when the engine is running?
The engine has an earth cable going from the block to the body. After 30yrs it may have corroded (it's vital but often overlooked).
when you get the motor running is it smooth or lumpy?
