Those are absolutely amazing.
The illusion images..... I can't even imagine how that's done. If they hadn't shown some from the "wrong" side or from overhead I would have never believed it.
Thanks BBB!
Boomerang
Thanks, Boomerang, I have a large collection of pavement art in an on-line art gallery I created a few years ago.
Another ground art form I admire are sand mandalas created by monks.

enjoy!

Also amazing!
I saw a documentary on those once a long time ago. The amount of concentration and care that goes into that.......
Wow!
wonderful link, bbb!
Do you ever see "Pastels on the Plaza" in Arcata? We participated one year - it was a lot of fun - plus there were drinks and snack available to the participants at nearby eatery, those were good too. (I have some photos, but they're packed...)
In turn that link reminds me of some pavement art in italy, with various scenes painted in flower petals, ephemeral and beautiful.
Osso
WOW! Osso, wonderful pictures of wonderful art.
Paving art is an under appreciated art.

I suppose that is hard to do on a rainy or windy day...
I've seen pics of his stuff before. His grasp of perspective is amazing. I love the drawings he does.
Thanks for the link!
it is amazing and I always thought those images that do the rounds were photoshopped to death.
amazing! I'd seen those fantastic trompe l'oeil images before but never those Italian ones.
Something similar happens in Derbyshire with the annual well dressing
link to some images
they are created with flowers and petals and leaves and stuff and are obviously short lived.

Thanks you so much for posting your link. They are beautiful examples of the art form.

that is like in Australia they have the Royal Easter Show, and people (used to?) make scenes out of vegetables and flowers, although these are a bit more detailed.
Pretty dedicated. You would have to work fast.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the perspective ones. I can't even imagine how it is done.
