1. I am very surprise that Galactus is not on this person's list.

2. One side note: When I was growing up reading Marvel comic books, the character that is now known as Luke Cage,
I knew as Power Man.

I remember Marvel would bring out special editions about films the original Star Wars appeared as two Treasury Editions. Planet of the Apes, and all it's sequels were serialised in the UK weekly black and white editions.

What made me remember was Werewolf by Night which was another strip in the Planet of the Apes comics.

@izzythepush,
I didn't remember Marvel having special edition comics books that weren't part of the Marvel world such as Star Wars.

@izzythepush,
Correction: I do have a vague memory of Marvel Comics and DC Comics having some type of special edition that combined the Marvel world and the DC comic world.

@Real Music,
It may have been a term used over here.

Early X men stories were printed in Charlton comics before Marvel started doing their own comics in the UK.

When Top Cat was shown here it had to be called Boss Cat because Top Cat was a brand of cat food.

@Real Music,
I read the Marvel comics before I saw the film.

It's worth a bit now, wish I'd kept my copies.

@Real Music,
I must admit I was a bit pissed off when 2000AD decided to partner up with DC instead of Marvel.

I did enjoy the Judge Dredd Batman specials but think the Judge would have been better suited to the Marvel universe.

@izzythepush,
1. I started reading Marvel Comics around the mid or maybe late 1970s.

2. Not sure of the exact year.

3. I think I had stopped reading Comics around the mid 1986.

4. Some of my childhood friends started reading Marvel comics a few years before I did.

5. I have seen my share of Marvel movies in recent years.

@izzythepush,
1. The X-Men was my favorite comic to read.

2. Each issue I couldn't wait for it to be on the store shelves.

3. I wasn't reading the original X-Men, because that was before I started reading comics.

4. The original X-Men included Cyclops, Beast, Marvel Girl, Ice Man, and Angel.

5. I did read re-release of some of the original X-Men.

6. By the time I started reading the X-Men, the team included Cyclops, Storm, Night Crawler, Wolverine, Colossus, Jean Grey (Phoenix), and maybe Beast.

7. Of course Jean Grey (also known as Phoenix) was also Marvel Girl from the original X-Men.

1. I don't recall Johnny Alpha.

2. Was he part of Marvel comics?

@Real Music,
No. He was part of the 2000AD staple, a mutant bountyhunter.

Mutants are the bottom rung of society, they're only allowed certain jobs.

Despite prejudice being a major theme there was a lot of humour in it.

The strip was called Strontium Dog.

British comics aren't like American comics.

They don't feature one character, they feature a lot, with some strips only being a page long.

When Marvel started issuing black and white UK reprints they followed the same format.

The first I can remember was called Mighty World of Marvel, it had Hulk, Iron Man and Spiderman strips reprinted.

That meant that a story that would take up one American comic would be serialised over a number of weeks.

@izzythepush,
1. That' interesting, that they were serialize strips and were only one page long.

2. Did you purchase these strips in stores or were they part of the newspapers?

3. Were they stand-alone one page strips, or were they part of newspapers?

4. Did they come inside of some type of sleeve or cover?

@Real Music,
Some strips were in newspapers but most kid's strips were in comics.

Funny comics had names like Whizzer and Chips, Beano, Cor, Buster Sparky.

Action comics were called Lion Valiant, Thunder, Hotspur.

All the above is from Cor, front and back pages and one page from the inside.
