What is the movie name (it's like a theater)

That sounds a lot like Dogville (2003). Though I can't remember if it's the father that kills most (if not all) of the villagers.

Was the film experimental in that there were literally no physical sets and it was shot in a warehouse and the buildings walls and boundaries were painted on the floor?
